  1. Thank you kindly, good sir. I wonder if he used the rolled up program back then.
  2. Ahh yes, the golden years of 1946-48 under John Wooden.
  3. I think Iowa can be pretty decent by the time February arrives. They're really young and can score the ball, but rely a lot on Jok and a freshman PG is always a crap shoot. However the defense has been pretty bad (which can probably be said about 70% of the teams in America). Once Cook returns, they'll be dangerous though.
  4. His parents thought he needed money for "books", not booze. Silly parents.
  5. It's only Dec 7. Think how much more your head will hurt by Feb & March if you go back on your promise.
  6. You're right. But I wouldn't have taken only Soler for an elite closer even if he has only one year left on his contract.
  7. If I was the Royals, I'd have told them its Schwarber or go find another closer ... which shows you how much smarter Theo is than I am.
  8. Creighton has looked terrific so far but this is their first road game. They've played 5 at home and 3 neutral. The only good team they have played so far is Wisconsin (at home). @Uspshoosier is right when it comes to rivalry games with the juices flowing in front of the home fans and needing a statement win.
  9. Benintendi reminds me of Fred Lynn so its no surprise he was untouchable in this deal. Moncada looked grossly over-matched in his brief appearances in Sept, but one would hope all the scouts that love the guy and hoopla that made him the #1 prospect aren't a charade. But my gosh, he's whiffed an awful lot in his career so far. I would guess the Red Sox are glad to be rid of Kopech and his "idiosyncrasies".
  10. That's really cool. Ain't technology amazing.
  11. If you look at the B1G as a stand-alone, the end-of-season league RPI concern is understandable. The ACC and Big East look fairly deep, but the B1G could compete with the Big East and they should be better than the SEC. Depending on the results against Butler and Pitinoville, if IU winds up with only 2 or 3 losses in conference to contending teams, I don't see why they couldn't at least get a 2 or 3 seed.
  12. I wonder if the Chris Sale trade helps the White Sox by beginning the rebuilding. They have some other decent pieces to trade but once they start down this path, they have to go all in.
