I assume it's an AA meeting considering the way this season has went.
-
Didn't know that. I guess I should've Googled it first!

There are plenty. Pretty sure Greg Marshall never played CBB for example.

Bobby Knight "I Hope they're all dead" comments

I really hate how so many journalists and announcers just seem to assume that all IU fans are slobbering for some kind of IU/Knight reunion. I know I'm not. I mean it's like IU is supposed to get down on our collective hands and knees and beg for his forgiveness. F that. Dude was a tremendously gifted basketball coach and I was a huge fan growing up, but he absolutely 100% got what he deserved in the end. Nothing more to discuss. -
While I'm not as confident as you are, I do think that Wisconsin handles IU in it's usual fashion tonight and refreshes everybody's memories on why TC needs to go.
-
If we're gonna hire an $%@#&*!, I'd rather have Marshall.
-
This is what I think as well. The only thing that might persuade him otherwise is if some of the trustees (or somebody else with some clout) really pushes for him hard.
-
Maybe they can do a follow up story on how UK should've kept Tubby Smith.
-
LOL. You know somebody is going to immediately register Fire(Insert_Name_Here).com within seconds of the new hire announcements.

I'm thinking maybe Crean has found a place to go that still currently has a coach. The agreement is contingent on that job opening up and, therefore, it's on hold until that happens. Just guessing here.... No inside info and I'm not a lawyer (although my grandmother did watch Matlock religiously).
-
I'll be shocked in Glass even entertains the thought of hiring Marshall. No inside info here....Just a gut feeling, but I really don't think their personalities would mesh well.

This will be me

I agree. Every team has injuries. You just hear about them more when they become an excuse for under performing. I used to always chuckle when Don Fischer would start off IU Football broadcasts with "A banged-up Hoosier football team takes on..." It's November. EVERY football team is banged up. But, he knew we were going to get waxed, so the excuses began before the game even started.

Agreed. It would be really interesting to see Crean in the SEC. I'd love to see their fan base meltdown if Crean were to take them down on a regular basis.

To me, 2008 IU and 2017 Missouri are apples-to-oranges. IU has always, even in the darkest of times, had a ton of fan support, financial backing, and history to build off of. Some may disagree, but Mizzou has never been anything but an "also-ran". They were pretty good in the 80s and had some spotty "recent" success with Mike Anderson, and Quinn Snyder, but if TC were to go there he'd be looking to build his own legacy, rather than re-build what IU once was under Knight. Right now, apathy seems to be at an all-time high there. With that said, I think he could do some really good things at Missouri. If he could replicate there, what he's done here, they'd be pretty darn happy one would think. I think that LSU is a better fit, in some ways, but I'd be surprised if they were willing to pay anywhere near what Crean is making here. Missouri seems like they want to be a player, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

I can take a hint. If you want me to leave, just say so.
-
I can honestly say I'd rather re-hire Kelvin Sampson than have Scott Drew here.
-
That's the thing... We're portrayed as an unreasonable and ungrateful fan base for wanting to part ways with Crean. But, if he were even half as good as the pundits made him out to be, then he'd be a super hot commodity right now. Imagine if, for example, Tom Izzo was rumored to be on the market. Fans all over the country would be clamoring for him. Yet, here we have NC State that hasn't been relevant since Jimmy V was there and Missouri, whose been inconsistently good, but never great, and the majority of their fan bases would be pretty disappointed if they ended up with TC.

Terry Hutchens has always been a bit of a homer. Maintaining access to the program is probably some of it, but judging from his posts I used to read on Peegs, I think what he is writing is pretty close to what he genuinely feels/believes. Probably more so than other seemingly "Pro-Crean" stuff that's out there now. I didn't see the article you're referencing, but given your synopsis, it sounds like the same thing other writers are throwing out there these days. There are so many counter-arguments one could make, but, to me, the crux of that matter is this... Forgot about the injuries and focus on the "heart" of IUs lineup lineup. In no particular order, we have: Newkirk JBJ RoJo Bryant Davis Green CuJo Morgan Should the 8 players I listed be in the Big Ten cellar hoping to get an NIT bid? In my mind, absolutely not. Obviously, IU would be a better, deeper team with OG and Hartman, but there is definitely enough talent and experience to expect much more than we are seeing in late February.

Riley Crean isn't playing for North this year.
-
Okay. I thought that might be the case.

Here it is. P.S. Not sure if it's kosher to link to other boards. If not, then please delete.

What are we supposed to do if IU wins the tournament? :)

Sports Illustrated says 80% chance Crean is out.

We can only hope. -
Rumors are all we have to divert us from this crappy season. You'll have to pry them out of my cold, dead hands.
