Potential coaching change suggestions

Howland has never had any NCAA issues and aside from Reeves Nelson, his players have rarely been in trouble. -

Reeves Nelson was the nutrient of nuts and Howland certainly didn't handle him the way he shouldve. However, most of Howlands issues were related to Nelson for the most part and I'm sure Howland has spent the last few years reflecting on and learning from his mistakes at the end of his UCLA tenure. I'd also think that time and a new location would help Howland overcome the recruiting issues that occurred in LA. Just look at how many successful pros he developed. The players may not have shined brightest in his system but they were sure prepared to succeed in the NBA. There are also very few coaches who are as good of an in game coach as Ben Howland. It's very very rare to find a coach as great as Ben Howland so available. He would get IU back to a final four within 5 years, I have no doubt. -

Maura Muensterman is also leaving the program. Both will be solid players with an opportunity, unfortunately with all the youth and depth at guard that IU has neither of them would've gotten it here. I have no idea why it seemed Agler regressed this year. -

If the IU faithful dealt with Knight's personality, they can easily deal with Howlands. Howland can recruit, develop talent, and is a top 5 in game coach. He's made mistakes, certainly (Reeves Nelson and Kendall Marshall) but I'm sure he's learned from them and now has a chip on his shoulder. Even his last UCLA team probably had a sweet 16 run in them if Jordan Adams didn't break his foot in the conference tournament. The guy knows how to win. -

Nobody available has a better resume than Ben Howland and we know he'd accept the job. -

Lawrence Frank is an interesting name (with IU ties) that I haven't seen mentioned yet. He's currently on Doc Rivers' staff with the Clippers. -

Update from Zach Osterman http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2014/11/01/indianas-devin-davis-injured-in-car-accident/18313535/ According to Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada, Holt dropped Davis off in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium at approximately 12:45 a.m. Saturday. After Davis exited the vehicle, Holt turned back onto 17th Street, heading west. For an "unknown reason," Davis unexpectedly reentered the roadway and was struck by Holt's car, according to Canada. Police responding to the accident found Davis unconscious north of 17th Street with an injury to his head, according to Canada. He was treated by ambulance personnel and transported to Bloomington Hospital. Canada could not say whether Davis had regained consciousness before being transported from the scene.
