Getting caught up on this thread and man some of you are miserable people. There’s a difference between being skeptical about a hire and running around like chicken little yelling that the sky is falling. We managed to hire 2 incredibly qualified head coaching candidates. Yes I know Matta is an administrator, but I don’t care. There are so many reasons to be excited about this hire. Assistants will be key, but Fife is open to a conversation and I think we have a good shot at Lewis. Keep Hunter on board as well as Cliff Marshall and we are in a great spot. Here’s what really sells me on this. There are two parts to this hire. NBA experience and College experience. You have a respected NBA coach in Woodson and you have one of the more successful college coaches of the last 20 years. He has a big buyout and said he was not interested when this all started, but that doesn't usually mean much. Not sure if the increase in "chatter" is being driven by anything other than fan speculation though.

I feel like we sometimes lose sight of what this job comes with. There is no question that it is a top job in the country. But when you factor in the pressure and how crazy the fanbase/alumni/boosters are it can scare people. I legitimately think there are a lot of really good coaches out there that would be trainwrecks once you factor in that side of things. This is a great job but it’s also an incredibly hard job.
