#IHSAA Boys/Girls State Tournament
reconmkd replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Having trouble finding stats for the game, but NH's leading scorer Lilly Hatton had 48pts, next lead sc was Cali Nolot with 11. 11 NH players scored. NH ranked #1 in Class 3A. From Courier-Journal: North Harrison has won 42 of its past 46 games dating back to the beginning of the 2015-16 season. After winning 14 straight to open this year’s campaign, North Harrison dropped a 61-37 decision to Greenfield-Central at the Hall of Fame Classic final in New Caste on Dec. 29, 2016. Since then, though, Voyles’ club has won four straight by an average of 45.3 points per game. If the stats show up, I'll check on the minutes. -
Wow, just read this on ESPN. Article is titled "B1G tournament questions for the Big Ten" Indiana: An M. Night Shyamalan flick. Intriguing, scary, surprising and wait ... what? So, sad to be compared to those awful movies!

That's the problem with this position-less, roll-less, what ever you call it, besides something that works basketball. Sorry but not having established positions leads to these chaotic stretches where the players don't know what's going on, the fans are pulling their hair out, the announcers are puzzled, and the coach says way to play. It is absolutely ok for each player to be able to play any position on the court, but that should only come after they understand what role in which they should be. Bryant needs a come to Jesus moment and understand that he is 6'10" and his but belongs within 10 feet of the basket a majority of the time and not to post up above the free-throw line. I have seen him do this a few times and there is usually only one result a TO. Not just singling TB out, just the first to come to mind, there are several that need to play to their strengths and stop trying to be something that they are not.

After filtering through the sunshine pumping, ugh, he had some good points about the players, but really couldn't get passed him drooling over Crean. Definitely seems to be making up for the past indiscretions. -
Have to agree with you, plus who would leave an NBA head coaching job that has Westbrook and Oladipo!

At the current rate, I think we end up retaining some of the players that we expected to lose or they go undrafted like Yogi and Troy. Any NBA scout can clearly see that TB is more than just a "project" big man. He is showing some serious issues in his game this year! I kind of agree with an earlier post that Yogi was a big reason for TB's success last year. He was fed under the basket setting up little room for error. This year he gets the ball at the 3pt line or he is posting 10 feet away from the basket. WTH is up with that? When you are 6'9" or bigger, putting the ball on the floor that far out leaves WAY too much time for someone to get in their and take it away. But that seems to be Crean's MO, not really sure why but its obvious that it doesn't work and sets up whoever plays the post for failure. OG, I have no clue what's going on there. Someone needs to be in his ear, berating him to play like that last play for the whole game. At the Illinois game, OG would appear then disappear in a flash. My dad rarely watches games anymore, but went to the game with me, kept saying what's wrong with OG? I still believe he has the chance to go to the big leagues, but if he keeps the disappearing act up, his stock will continue to drop. I'm still trying to figure out why this team seems like they are not getting the message. Is it because of Crean's good guy mentality, his lack of punishment for poor play, his coddling of the players, his lack of X&O coaching in game, or something else? As emotional as some of the players can be, example: Rojo falling to the floor last night pounding the floor after that miss, how are they not improving? They have been playing ball for a majority of their lives, they know what works and what doesn't. Is there such a lack of leadership, that no one knows how to step up or are they afraid of stepping up? As a life long fan, they are making it harder and harder to watch. After last night, no more late games for me. It has become not worth fighting the sandman at work and drinking 2 pots of coffee.

My god a simple motion offense would help! Just once try motion and not the half assed motion that they seem to attempt!!!! -

Great first ever game in the Hall tonight! Love the experience, but man if we don't shoot our selves in the foot the refs will do it for us! Still can't believe McRoberts got so many min with Green having a pretty good game! -
Nothing like wasting a scholly on a project that never gets worked with! Hey, You're 7ft tall ever touched a basketball? No, that's ok I have a scholarship to waste!

I agree. I started watching when I was really young in the 80s. My family were HUGE Knight fans and I can remember the '87 team barely cause I was really young. But I know one thing for sure, if Newkirk, O.G., Blackman, or anyone on the team slacked on D or kept turning the ball over like we do now, everyone of them would have been on the bench until lessons were learned. I am beginning to think that the "nice" guy routine that Crean is all to familiar with clouds the messages that he tries to give (I'm not defending him). Before the Wisky game he was spot on with how the game would play out, but it seemed his message never reached its intended audience. Watching Knights teams was a blessing and getting to play basketball through high school with coaches that used the Knight system is probably the cause of my blood pressure spiking during the games this year. I would love to see some motion offense, some good ball screens, and down right fundamental basketball. I really like O.G, Morgan, Davis, and ROJO, they remind me of the past players and generally show a ton of heart. But like others have mentioned, you give these guys to a coach like Knight, Coach K, or Izzo and I think there could be a NC in the picture. The talent is here, the fan base is here, just waiting on some one to get the team here.

Have at it! Prolly would have at least won that game! Seriously, I played ball through high school, how freakin hard is it to teach fundamental basketball! My team was never great, but we didn't average that many turnovers and we sure as hell didn't play that poorly on D. If we did, we paid in sprints, laps, and pine time! -

Well I'm going to the Illinois game Saturday and that's prolly the last CTC game I will watch. Done no more this season, really hope he's gone! I even watched through the dark ages, what ever games were actually televised! An 8th grade coach has a better handle of the game than him!!!! Omg I want to break something! -

If I were coaching this team, they would be running suicides until someone dies or they learn to play D, take care of the ball, and some basic basketball.
