  1. The Women's team is getting killed by a lack of any kind of NIL support. Left behind in the Big 10.
  2. Cig was successful because he had a great system for talent identification at the lower levels He brought most of the important parts of a top 25 team with him when he came. The University greatly increased the football investment And that was a pretty historically weak schedule to get him off to a great start, which then got the boosters to pony up a lot more money for this year, and next year.. There are very few Cigs out there.
  3. Well he's 59 in Kenpom with a top 3rd SEC budget, so Calipari is probably is running cover for a member of the good ole boy network than giving actual advice. Plus you know, he's a drunk.
  4. Rod Clark wasn't even on staff when these guys were signed. Kenny wasn't here right away either.
  5. This was a team full of portal scraps since the admin wanted everyone on last years team flushed out of the program. A complete reset was wildly reported. Hell they even fired athletic training staff. Most of it was put together without our recruiting coaches hired. 2 guys who were thought to be rotation guys haven't sniffed the floor because of injury. The program is likely spending somewhere between 25-30 in the country in resources. So yes not understanding those things and immediately putting pressure on a coach is dumb, and it's indicative of a bad fan base that doesn't understand modern basketball. Good teams are spending more than twice what we are. That's likely to go down as long as Cig is here. It has to be built into a regular tournament team consistently . There wasn't any short cut on the amount of money spent. It's needed to be rebuilt since Crean was fired and it's never been done. So having Indiana, the school who's been barely relevant in a quarter century a place where your coach gets 18 games isn't going to help anything.
  6. ok fair. But I have disagreed with every hire the program has made since Knight was fired except for Sampson and Crean. Devries has an incomplete. I need to see more.
  7. It is. Why wouldn't any big time coach come here? You are the problem. Look in the mirror. You can get IU level resources at BYU without this nonsense.
  8. I never wanted them to hire Davis, that was an emotional decision that is always as death knell to programs. It was Bill Lynch in football. Crean deserved an extension. He earned it, and him completely burning the AAU and High School coaches in the midwest was not something anyone would have seen. Woody's extra year was bad, since it cost us May. I understand the logic from an on court perspective, and Steve Ferguson gave him a boost in money to go along with it, but it's not what most of us wanted, since it was obvious Woody wasn't the right guy. By why on earth are you blaming me for any of these decisions, I would have made almost none of them. I just think trying to fire a coach 18 games in makes you a dumb basketball fan.
  9. Because the problem isn't the X's and O's, it's the Jimmy and Joes, and this staff hasn't even been able to recruit anyone yet. They got portal scraps without their full staff in place.
  10. And this is EXACTLY the reason Indiana basketball is in the shape it is in. No nuance from the fan base. No understanding at all. Are there problems, yes. But holy hell these guys haven't even had a full portal season with their staff. I kinda wish a whole lot of Indiana fans would go root for someone else.
  11. I'd rather lose. Plus he's worse than us this year. What a terrible take.. Do you watch ball?
  12. I would guess this was likely made in the early 80s based on these players, celebrating roughly Knights first 10 years are so. It has none of the Alford area players or after.
  13. Almost all of the portal peeps that left stayed until their meeting, and then declared for the portal immediately after talking with D Rock. So the fact they took the meeting and then left right after probably answers that question on who's idea it was. Everyone was tight lipped about the specifics after though.
  14. Drew Adams is here because of his Indiana specific and Midwest ties more broadly, plus he's been plugged in somewhat in Europe.
  15. That is the bigger point, really when everyone is talking about mismanagement they are primarily talking about basketball, and those decisions have rarely been left to the AD. Tom Crean told the story recently that Steve Ferguson was in the hotel room when he had his first meeting with the school.
  16. You can absolutely set a hard rule that you have to be on the team and eligible by the start of the season to play in that season. There would be no way to argue otherwise. It isn't like some of their other rules.
  17. Ok, picking up a European pro mid season semester break is a bridge too far for me on this stupid deal NIL has become.
  18. I'm not arguing their point one way or the other. But they would argue that almost all of their road games in the ACC are sell outs (90 plus percent) vs 23 percent of the games they aren't involved in. The game ratings on TV are generally up as well. And they do rev share in other sports. But whatever the point was, my point was they were not asking to ACC to advocate for them which was what was being said in this thread. They wanted them to not say anything.
  19. To be fair to ND, that's not what they argued at all. They just said that as the ACCs biggest football business partner and a member of the conference in every other sport, the ACC as a conference should have been neutral and Miami should have said whatever they wanted to about it.
  20. If you watch any other conference, you know they are indeed the worst in the ******* country and it's not close.
  21. Sisley came in with that purpose and got 7.
  22. Doesn't he always do that when he plays hard?
  23. I think you use him with Conerway in the defensive set when you absolutely need it, but start the game with more scoring options. He's too easy to defend by leaving him open, and his energy is best served as the 6th man.
