The Bulls wanted him b/c he and Gar Forman were close friends in college and have been ever since. He and Forman are joined at the hip -- Forman's job supposedly is safe, which to me, suggests that Freddie ain't leaving the Bulls (although, as a Bulls fan, I think he should have been fired after last year).

^^^^^^ This, 100%

The party is just about over for CTC. The Hall may be half empty on Saturday; I certainly will not be watching.
-
Makes more sense.... He can go elsewhere next year and play if he so desires (and should, IMO)...
-
For Collin's sake, that makes no sense. He's going to blow an entire year of eligibility so he can play in 4 games in an already lost season???
-
Because this matter involves $$$$$ coming into the University. If large donors are threatening to close their pockets, those at the HIGHEST levels need to take action to ensure that that does not happen.... The University cannot operate without $$$$ from boosters...

Prediction League (Game 28 - @ Iowa 2/21/17)
Rookie33 replied to Str8Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I am overwhelmed with ambivalence over this and the remainder of our schedule. Anyhoo..... 77-72 Iowa. We will blow this game much like Maryland and Minnesota -
Agreed - it's been more than 15 years since RMK was here -- he has NO relevance to the Topic of CTC's (hopeful) departure and successor.
-
If true, that is something that simply cannot and will not be ignored by Mr. Glass.... "It's happening!!!!!".....
-
yes, please

FWIW, milehiiu on TOS is posting some interesting stuff today... The gist seems to be that discussions on a split are underway but that the breakup process isn't going as smoothly as had been hoped (which is not all that unexpected)....
-
I agree, but I think we should all focus on him not being here before obsessing about a successor. A small part of me fears that Glass is going to give him one more chance.... He truly is like a cat with 9 lives...
-
He's not a PG -- so a lot of that is on you know who...
-
I actually think he would have transferred out of Kentucky like Wiltjer did had he gone there. JBJ can shoot and that's about it; I think his PT would have been more limited at Kentucky than it has been here, and I don't think he (or Senior) would have been satisfied with that.
-
Hoping for the TT....
-
I don't blame him. That said, despite his obvious offensive abilities, I don't think he'll be missed all that much regardless of his next destination (see 2015-2016 season as an example of that).
-
But he "discovered" Victor and D Wade -- that's gotta count for something!!!!
-
I think it's safe to say JBJ will not be returning in light of CTC's recent ripping of him to the media and the supposed text back-n-forth between JBS and CTC about it.
-
Especially a loss by double digits, which we all expect (and, dare I say, hope for at this point).....
-
If (and it's a big IF) both the NC State and Indiana jobs were available, one would think he'd take Indiana.

Missouri is a perfect fit -- that program is happy just to get into the tourney, and it is an absolute MESS right now. Crean has proven to be great at cleaning things up, which is what Missouri needs. He's hit the "ceiling" here -- we haven't made a final 4 in 15 years and haven't won a title in 30 years. CTC isn't the guy to get us to either of those places. On a somewhat related note, what do people know about Texas Tech's coach, Chris Beard? The guy is doing an IMPRESSIVE job down there w/ a win over Baylor...
-
I enjoy KS and follow him on Twitter, but does anyone have any insight as to how "close" to the Program he is? Is he considered an "insider" with access to reliable intelligence?
-
He's being grossly misused and under-utlized (shocker).... I could see him leaving if CTC is back.
-
Bryant is a late first rounder (likely). JBJ will be in D League or Europe likely. The one who might come back is OG b/c of his injury and his underwhelming (IMO) play prior thereto. I hope Hartman is given an opportunity to come back though the tea leaves suggest he's being forced out ala Matt Roth (which was ridiculous).
-
Agreed - and all of the noise regarding the short length remaining on his contract (which will negatively impact both the team and recruiting) will be even LOUDER next season (if he stays). Glass cannot extend him now, so it seems there is no other logical choice for all parties involved but a mutual parting of ways in a mere few weeks.
