Pete Diprimio article on Subbing.
Plasticjimmyhat replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Subbing players who just made a big play, or on fire, out of the game makes no sense to me. Playing McSwain during key moments of the game confound me as well. If I had hair, I would never have it come March because of these questionable substitutions! -
Tom Crean Update from Fred Glass
Plasticjimmyhat replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This comment is a very non descript acceptance by Freddy on Creans future. He is biding his time and seeing what Thon and Thomas do IMO. If we lose both, i see a possible buyout after July 1st. I, as much as I want to, will not speculate on the future of Crean. Other teams are already using the Crean wont be there "montra" to lure away recruits. You have to sever the head to kill the snake... If Crean goes, so should Glass IMO. If I had my druthers they would both hit the bricks and I.U. rebuild, with a coach and AD that want to make INDIANA relevant again. Love Creans 100% grad rate! I want to have that and eat my cake too... I won't pick that poison cause thats all we got from a recruiting standpoint nowadays. -
Took me 5 minutes at best "smart guy" dealing with kid questions as I composed. You,my friend, obviously haven't picked up on the fact that this is my first posting since NOV. cause I haven't been on this sight since then. I only concern myself with site opinions when I am on said site...This case, 2 and a half months.

Been awhile since I have needed to use this page for relevant info... That being said... I realize that someone calling me "buddy" on here reeks of sarcasm... I doubt the use of said sarcasm implies a "dump on" ,and only shows ignorance for the "dumper", which in this case is CCG, or you, for that delightful, well informed insight... "Buddy"

First thing first. I am not your "buddy". Secondly, what language have I used that you seem to find so offensive?

BTW... I would never put you on ignore... I like a good ol' fashioned war of words on the net!!!

Dakich... the biggest hater of them all and he has a forum... He still can't get over the fact that I.U. doesn't want him. Knight will never embrace I.U. so Crean has to get passed that. Sampson... that ship has sailed on him. He's a no meaner.

I love what you have to say Champ... I was one of the thousands standing BTW... Where were you? Davis Resigned ****** and received no buyout... . He saw he wasn't ready for the big time and moved on.You my (NOT) friend blow ****** and chase it in the wind. Come at me with something coherent or even fact based. I have sooo much more for you if you want to keep on keeping on.

So... I read an article about I.U.s troubles with off the court issues... clicked a link that took me to KY radio. Needless to say I didn't intend to view this page, however... Curiosity got the best of me... I've always wondered what KY had to say about I.U... It's not a pretty pic. We somehow come off to those that love KY as being cheating assholes who "GOT LUCKY" with our win in 2011. They had a field day with Troy Williams mom losing her cool while addressing I.U. fans who were upset with Troys decision making. The comments I read were borderline racist at best. I'm of the opinion that Troy is not his mother, and his mother is not Troy, His(Troys) Actions are his own and he is paying for that. KY fans gleefully took to their page calling her language "ebonics" that cant be understood. Another refered to her posts as"JIVE" something from the 70's. I read her comments as a pissed off mom who is new to the internet in the sense that she is pissed and not worried about proper spelling and wanting to get her (aggressive) cause she is pissed point across. With that I digress.

Revised Season Expectations

It has been a hallmark for I.U. to play cupcakes going in to the BIG under Crean... This year we have SMU, Louisville, and Pitt. That should give us a guage of this team and prepare it for the BIG. Gotta say on Creans behalf...We did only lose by 1 to UCONN who happened to win the championship. -

ADDENDUM... CTC needs to coach what he has been working with in game... Proper substitutions will be crucial against SMU. Larry Brown has won at every level and will have his team ready for our best shot! CTC better be ready for this!!! -

You seem to be spot on IMO... Hanner has impressed me the most albeit against lesser talent. His footwork has improved and his handling looks somewhat better. JBJ will do what needs to be done... that being scoring or dishing. Yogi IMO seemed to kinda rush a few situations . It seemed like he forgot at times he now has shooters around him to kick to. ROJO was spot on all night... he took what was given and shot lights out on open threes. Zietsloft can drain a three whenever he feels like and has the leadership we lacked last season. Hartman? Very impressed with his come back... he's another shooter you have to look out for and guard. Hotzel will be the wild card... you never know what he will give you, but you know it will be his all. Can't say anything about Stan or Troy... We'll find out against SMU... Should be a game we can win, but I would bring them in off the bench for chemistry reasons. -
We are now going through the same thing we did with Davis... I wish CTC would own up to his inability's as a coach to coach, like Davis did. Davis saw the writing on the wall with only an $800,000 buyout and resigned!! Crean is riding out his buyout right now hoping he can get it right before the alumni anti up and put him out. I think Creans agent did an awesome job with his contract IMO... It gives him a chance Davis didn't have to right the ship

Passive aggressive much? Keep tossing those negatives on the positives Champ.

Davis was a deer in headlights, and deservedly so following Mr. Knight... I would have him coach IUBB again now that he has head coaching experience. He could definitely recruit (Bracey Wright for example) And IMO coach circles around CTC. It Ain't the same recruiting players to UAB as it would be to I.U. I look forward to Coach Davis returning to Assembly Hall and wish him well... I.U. with the win of course!! This man deserves a standing ovation in "The Hall" and I hope he gets it!
