  1. No offense but you have quite literally zero credentials to tell anyone how much these players cost on the open market.
  2. I know it’s a different sport and all, but our football team just went to the college football playoffs on the back of mid major players. Florida just won a championship in basketball on the back of a lot of mid major players. Why do you view mid major in and of itself as damning? You seem to be offering no further analysis beyond our players used to be mid majors. I don’t know if you’ve been more accurate than most in the past or not, haven’t been here long enough to tell, but I don’t see why that means you’re remotely correct here. I am well aware of how many players routinely make the jump from impact mid major players to impact power conference players. Are we pretending that’s rare or unheard of? I do know that viewing mid major in and of itself as damning is terrible analysis though and pretty ignorant of how much talent is overlooked there. And that talent regularly transfers over to power conferences and even to the NBA.
  3. I’m struggling with whether Miles or Dorn start for us. Dorn’s a slightly better shooter but I think Miles is better overall offensively. Good problem to have.
  4. Trilly bomb for Josh Harris to Indiana.
  5. Would love this kid, putting up 13/7 as a freshman is impressive and he’s got good size at 6’8 210. Hes not the defensive big we’ve been looking for, but I do think we need to add some young guys.
  6. I agree we need to look at defensive bigs, but one of the teams in the national championship in Houston weren’t exactly playing your typical rim protecting defensive bigs. They didn’t have a player in their rotation above 6’8.
  7. Theres been plenty of discussion in the transfer portal thread on where Torvik is placing us with each transfer, and using it to justify how impactful/good our transfer class is over the last day or so. My issue is no other metric or deeper analysis is being done beyond just citing Torvik by certain posters.
  8. I don’t mind a reference point, but pointing to Torvik and solely Torvik seems like less of a reference point and more of a standard which is where I take issue
  9. https://x.com/CBKReport/status/1831451453573202325 posting this since we apparently love to cite where Torvik is placing a brand new team preseason, sorry if I do not particularly care what Torvik says.
  10. Agreed, I would also like to still emphasize how absolutely useless computer rankings are when it comes to team building with a bunch of players playing together under a new coach. Completely different system. Some guys will overperform in that system, some guys won’t. But what the computer says they did with completely different teammates with a completely different coach in a completely different system doesn’t matter to me much at all.
  11. Are we using preseason computer rankings to determine whether a teams roster is good or not? You’re collecting for the most part 13 players who’ve never played together under a coach they’ve never played for, sorry but the computer rankings are somewhat useless to what DeVries is going for.
  12. I have no idea why I was under the impression he was Finnish, ignore me then lol
  13. Could be Leo Curtis too, he’s Finnish
  14. Stinks but kinda figured, good news is this team has a lot of wings currently.
  15. Trilly prediction for Miles to Indiana
  16. How would we feel about a small ball starting line-up? Something like: Conerway/Wilkerson/Miles/DeVries/Bailey in theory you’re playing small ball there but still decent size across the line-up… 6’3/6’5/6’6/6’7/6’10 isn’t exactly a tiny lineup.
  17. Saw Jack Endries from Cal is into the portal, really good player. had nearly 60 receptions and 600 yards at Cal last year, think he’d want to follow his old QB to Bloomington?
  18. I think you can be flexible, but I’d probably ideally look for an athletic 4/5 hybrid who’s in the 6’8 - 6’10 range and can play around the rim and help us defensively.
  19. This feels like the first recruit DeVries directly went up against the big boys for and we won… entire board and take a sigh of relief and relax now.
  20. I had a main concern with Conerway, he’s not a great athlete by Big Ten standards and seems to be at his best attacking downhill. I think that’s fine and can work in college, but you HAVE to surround him with shooters. DeVries is gonna be a shooter, Reed can shoot but that’s not his main game, we needed another elite floor spacer out there. Wilkerson is that. Those two would really help open up the floor for Conerway which is something we’ve been terrible at under both Archie and Woody, opening up the floor.
  21. Probably doesn’t bode well for Wilkerson I’d imagine
  22. Waiting for trilly to confirm one way or another
  23. So did Kentucky embarrassingly swing and miss on Wilkerson too?
