I'm not angry about it think its a great hire and I'm sure he will do his job well. Whatever the parameters of his role with in the program are which no one on here really knows. I jus think were overhyping the immediate impact of his role. Far more of potential success of this program falls on the DDV and the Coaching Staff. I'm sure Carr with do a great job of IDing talent like he has done for the pacers but keep in mind that Franchise is run by the most underrated and top 4 front office (made up of more than just Carr) in the NBA and a literal NBA champion and 1000 win HC.

Maybe it was staff's decision on all of the guys leaving I'll grant you that but also maybe it wasn't based on productivity if they (the players) made the decision to leave its probably not money based and that's what could be concerning. but neither of us really know. I sure hope so , we will know more next offseason And agree to disagree on the final front or at least seem your not and I'm not but many others idk about that. He is talked about more than the HC or assistants. We hired an assistant from Louisville that even had the same last name and he got mentioned a fraction of the amount. I'm not saying he won't have a positive impact and its a great hire especially for him. I'm not saying people who make the excuse to criticize him, I'm saying they would us it as an excuse for DDV. All in all my position stands and maybe I should have prefaced his in the original post no matter what happens in the next 10-14 days their should be no hurdles or "Issues" for DDV not to have success in 2027 (personally don't think there were in 2026 but many others think otherwise and that's ok). And I won't attached any stipulations what success looks like I think we will know a lot more by late March 2027.

Not sad to see any of them go and honestly IU kept the most valuable one, but sit here and pretend to know that the staff anticipated this is a bit of stretch but to each his own.

interesting how you cling to the Dorn quote but ignored they other 2 which like the staff excuse, also would be factual thing. I'm not upset about Dorn leaving either but also it continue does highlight a massive potential issue with DDV, outside of Trent Sisley (Die hard IU kid) no player with Eligibility has chosen to come play with (guys from WVU) or Stayed to play (kids from IU) for DDV (that's not his own freaking kid) and I'm NOT making that up. Just makes me nervous. Guess we will know more next year with the 3 freshman if some of them decide to stay multiple years.

Can already hear "Dorn leaving caught the staff off guard" / " Staff didn't anticipate having 8-9 roster sports to fill" / "Ryan Carr didn't have a full season to get going." as next March's version of "Staff wasn't in place in time" as an excuse for another underachieving year. I know there is still a lot to play out but I'd be lying if I didn't say a month ago I'd thought I'd feel a lot more optimistic today. We shall see if that changes in the next 10 days or so.
