Ink on paper, Brad. Make me a believer, but until then, I am a skeptic. -

Osterman's Twitter doesn't have anything about a BBall coach, but they did sign the Olympic winning swimmer out of Carmel. So there's that. -

Ok, it is 3:15pm CST here in Evansville, and I don't see any news on ESPN or Inside The Hall on a new IU coach being hired, but I do see news on Jimmy Johnson retiring from the FOX pre-game show after 31 years. I guess they haven't received the MEMO yet. -

Yeah, he is the AD at his alma mater of St. Bonaventure. You are about 6 months from that being pretty convincing. Lol -

And they set up her your for it to coincide with the IU West coast trip. Ah, do you think Woodson would recognize him? Lol -

I believe Crean was trying to get them back on the schedule when he was here with a home and home with a game in Louisville and one in Indy in between, and Cal wanted nothing to do with home games because he wanted a game in Indy for recruiting. IIRC -

The joke at the time it was announced was that Calipari will not be around when the game is in Bloomington. LOL I didn't think it would come true in just a few months after the announcement. -

And if Woodson really did go and ask about his job, and if it caused this whole thing of announcing his retirement a few before the season ended instead of at the end, he could've caused a lot of problems of coaches we could get getting paid like May to stay before we could possibly talk to them. Am I over thinking that? Did that screw Dolson on his search? -

Personally, I am not a fan of Scott Drew which mostly because of the Perea incident 10 years ago. His threatening to deport the guy if he didn't go to Baylor really rubbed me the wrong way. I know that he is big on the religious part in the program which is fine, but the whole threatening deportation was really low. -

And he took advantage of that win by, how can I put this, not doing things a college basketball coach shouldn't be doing with coeds on campus when his wife is in Boston. They haven't been able to recover from that either while he could've been able to really build off of that. -

In order for Crean to get fired after those first 2 seasons if he didn't get Zeller, the next three years would have to be pretty much in the middle of the Big Ten and not getting better. One thing that Crean did have going for him is the development a lot of players showed like Oladipo. The player has to have that fire to get better, and the coach needs to throw gas on that fire. Crean had that going for him that the next coach needs. -

Some people will really be falling off big time if he turns us down again. Might want to keep your feet on the ground when you reach for those stars so you don't get hurt if you fall. -

I put this on the Poll thread on Beard, and would he actually go to the lengths he would have to go to get the job? On the flip side, would IU want to monitor what he does or acts in his off to actually keep the job? Beard, I put Neutral because I think he would do great in Bloomington, but he would really have to go to AA or something to stay off the booze. He would also have to do some charity work for battered wives or something to show that he is truly regretful of his past mistakes and the like. He would just have to prove that those incidents are behind him, and can he truly do it? -

Doesn't everyone put a beat down on UE? LOL I went to SIU vs UE last year, and I am glad someone gave me those tickets. It was not fun watching that beat down, and I have never seen so many jump passes before in my life. -

Yeah, but someone like Self has already had health problems. Cignetti is like Pete Carroll who seems like a young 72, but you get a coach who is over 65 and overweight and that can change fast. -

I was a Neutral on Pearl, Self, Few, and Wright simply because of their age. I would be happy they are here, but not as ecstatic as some because I know we will be going through this mess in another 5 to 6 years. Although any of them would be a great bridge coach like Woodson should've been, I want someone who will be around for 10 years or so. Cronin, I have never been much of a fan of his, and his attitude would wear thin I believe. Drew, the whole Perea incident still gets under my skin. To threaten to deport the guy was a total d!ck move, and I just don't like him over that. Gates and Brownell, I don't know much about either of them outside of Brownell is from here in Evansville, and it looks like he was a couple of years ahead of Calbert at Harrison. If he got the job, I can see him keeping Calbert around. Shaka, I am not a fan of his style, but can he really win at a big school? His one shot at Texas didn't do too good, but would he do better if he got a second chance? Who knows, but he looks comfortable at Marquette. McDermott, he has had a few chances to leave like Few has, but has NIL changed his feelings of staying? He is 60, and he might be in the same category of Pearl and Self in that he might retire soon. But he could get 10 years at IU. -

Our chance with Pitino was over 20 years ago when the boosters had him lined up, but the Administration hired Mike Davis to give RMK the finger by hiring his former assistant. PItino went to UL and the rest is history. -

Just to pile on here, the dental assistant where I go to the dentist here in Evansville has a cousin married to Dusty May, and my dentist is a very small time donor from what I can tell and went to IU Dental school with a son who was on the IU baseball team. That being said, she didn't have any information from her cousin on any family plans to move back to the Bloomington area. My dentist didn't have any information either as I asked him just before he shot me full of Novocain before the "small" cavity he was fixing. I tried to find out some information for the group. -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

What are the odds that he will put in a 3 big lineup (Ballo, Hatton, and Reneau) at one point in a game here soon? I say they are about 80% chance it happens just because he can.
