    Here is the real question, if IU is willing to throw some real money at a top coach, would they stay and build the program, or just wait for the first chance to jump up the ladder? CTA was worth the risk when he was hired because he seemed like a guy that was committed to the University, he had a connection, so it was more than just another coaching job to him. Unfortunately, the program just isn't taking the next step, we are somewhat competitive, our defense is pretty decent at times, but we are not considerably better, if we are better at all than when he was hired! If you get lucky and hire some up and coming young coach, he's not going to stay. You have two choices, throw some serious money at a top proven winner and lock him in for 5-7 years (I think IU is too cheap to go this route) or keep CTA and try to improve the staff around him...IU needs better recruiting and better talent assessment. Finally, CTA has had some bad luck with injuries....if Penix could have stayed healthy IU would be much better and been able to recruit better players! Just my opinion, but I don't hate Allen and I am not convinced Indiana is willing to do what it takes to do much better!
