So, how were the tickets for this game with Notre Dame decimated? Were a block of tickets made available at face value to IU, and were there some tickets made available to the general public at face value? I mean I assume Notre Dame season ticket holders were able to buy tickets at face?

So it is basically scalping prices, which is legal in Indiana, probably not in some of the other locations?
-
That is one of the reasons I was thinking neutral sites would be better, I would think you would see somewhat affordable ticket prices, but there you have the problem with attendance. Maybe there needs to be some sort of cap on ticket prices for these playoff games?

You are correct, I just assumed wrong... The committee members include one current athletic director from each of the four "major" conferences—ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC—also known as the Power conferences. Other members are former coaches, players, athletic directors, and administrators, plus a retired member of the media. My apologies to Sunshine Pumper and Dayton, looks like the elites pretty much control this thing!

You make some valid points, I still prefer 16 teams and no byes in the first round, then you go to the bowls for the rest of the tournament. TV revenue is where the money is, but I agree, poorly attended games would not be a desirable outcome!

Especially if they are the home team. I would rather play Notre Dame at Lucas Oil or Ford Field in Detroit for example. You may be right, I just think the neutral sites work really well for the NCAA Basketball tournament, I always assumed the NIT did it the way they do for simplicity and because those tickets would be difficult to sell, I don't think that would be a problem for the CFP, but I might be wrong? Anyway, just my opinion on the current process maybe it is perfect just the way it is?

I wonder why they don't get a first round bye in the NCAA basketball tournament, I'm sure they would prefer one?
-
With all due respect, the NCAA can easily do away with on-campus games in the first round if they want to, and there is nothing these elite colleges can do to stop it. They make the rules and if a football program doesn't like the rules they can choose to not participate!

I believe changes will and need to be made to the CFP process. I think the byes should done away with, expand the field to 16, and like they do in the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the first round games should be played on neutral fields on a rotating basis, and yes Lucas Oil should be one of those stadiums! It is kind of set up like the NIT right now....this should also make tickets more affordable and available! Just my two cents....

We really miss Evans on the OL....Notre Dame has been playing good football, but we are certainly capable of beating them!

I bet we go to Texas!

Chunk!

Either Penn State is better than I thought or Oregon is not as good as I thought?
-
If IU does have to go to Penn State, IU proved they can play in cold weather and snow in the Purdue game. Rourke, being a Canadian, should be used to cold weather!
-
ACC will be livid if this loss cost SMU a berth to Alabama!
-
DEFENSE!

Impressive come back by Penn State!
-
Penn State is overrated....they might be a top 10 team, but not a top 3!
-
Arizona State impressed me today, Skattebo is a hard guy to bring down!
-
Oregon is the best team in the country!
-
PSU has Tom Allen....relax!
-
If #3 for Texas would have blocked, that interception would have been a pick 6 and Texas would have won!
-
Either of them will be very difficult to beat at home!
-
They shouldn't catch the coin toss...let it hit the ground, it is a pet peeve of mine, I don't like them catching it!
