Many of us have watched Drake since his name has been circulating. Nothing against those kids, but they do look like Div II talent - but they are very disciplined. No hero ball. No playing outside your means. keep it close, then win the last 5 minutes. My hope, if he does come here, is that his system is highly tailored to his Personnel. If he were to get some higher talent, his system might open up quite a bit to match the talent level. If he were to address that in an introductory press conference, it would go a long way.

We bought a new vehicle from Andy Mohr Ford this week. I’ve done my part to contribute. I feel pretty vested in this process now, like I should have a say.

Chris has been holding some buckets under these leaks… Seems to be referencing said leaks quite frequently today.

Maybe I’m wrong on this, but I feel like a good agent would reach out to any decent opening, which the IU spot would certainly be lucrative, just to see. It wouldn’t be an instance of interest from a candidate, but rather an agent doing his job.

So maybe Dolson has known for months? Maybe there was an “agreement” with our next coach finalized BEFORE Woodson’s “retirement” announcement. Dolson would have known the scrutiny and microscopic attention an active coaching search would produce - right down to flight tracking ;) Leaks would be difficult to contain if a number of agents and other players were in active works. The info from our insiders would be a round peg in a square hole, but it would explain why it’s so quiet - because nothing really IS happening right now. It was already done before we knew it was happening. That’s playing chess when others are playing checkers.

Well, depending on whether Dolson “has his guy”, I hope the interest is strongly reciprocated at least.

Who reached out to IU? Reps for Otz feeling for interest, or boosters wanting to throw their backing towards him?

He used to sit UNDER the basket at one point.

It’s that we lost him to a conference rival that is the most upsetting. He’s gonna be a thorn in the a** for a long, long time.

If May’s camp is working on an extension, MIGHT it be because he received a courteous notification that the IU position if filled, so there’s no reason to hold out any longer?

Not that I would have much of a drop in excitement with option #2. It’s after that where it starts getting a little meh for me - though it would still potentially be a vast improvement over the current situation.

That certainly sounds like we’ve moved past option #1.

At this point, whether the prognostications of BS come to fruition, or not. Whether IU rolls the dice on Beard. Whether they can pull May away after a year at Michigan. Whether they go with a grizzled veteran with a lowere-than-desired-ceiling or a hot up-and-comer… …this board have provided ample entertainment and WAY too much of a time suck. Chris, AP, Isaac, Zion - keep ‘em coming.
