It’s one of those guys. Whichever one said he had relatives in Indiana and liked IU basketball on one of the broadcasts. Maybe two years ago now. Both of those guys are probably better than Hummel and Bardo at this point.

Can’t believe Hummel and Bardo are our two main options. I wish we could get that other big goofy white guy (sorry, forgetting his name…maybe played at Iowa) that actually likes IU.

Anyone in his position reading letters from pissed off fans is just wallowing in their own pity, looking for sympathy. Any respectable coach would just have their secretary dump them in the garbage. His agent and supporters were all too happy to plead to the press to try and curry sympathy and deflect from Davis’s own missteps. He was in way over his head and I have some appreciation for that fact which is why he wasn’t able to successfully navigate fairly easy and common obstacles. But as the wise poet Coughlin once said, “all things end badly, or else they wouldn’t end.”

Not really. He was welcomed back warmly. He was treated like any other failure coach prone to a series of foot-shooting gaffes. The one difference being back then certain standards still seem to exist among most of the fan base and we felt entitled to return to greatness sooner rather than later.

I’m sort of the same way. But all road wins in the B1G are “good” wins. It’s not college football where you have to have a ranked win or something so the talking heads don’t freak out. PSU is still 39 in Kenpom. If we beat Arkansas or BYU on the road in non-conference play most would consider that pretty good.

When did we start naming snow storms? I formally protest.

Still too sloppy in many aspects, but we have enough talent if deployed properly we could make the tourney.

Did well enough out of conf to get our share of gteams in the tourney, but almost no that the top…even worse than previous years.

It’s hilarious to me that they pull and/or money to get the Penn logo off the floor.

All these shots at the rim are making me pine for the days of two bigs and nail, slot, rim…lol

We can’t guard the 3 and those teams like to spread it out and jack up 3s. it’ll be interesting to see how our foray into “small ball” changes things in that regard, if at all

That was my impression too but I wasn’t watching very attentively. It doesn’t seem like that should work, but Ballo leal and Trey make a nice core defensive unit. Leal and Goode understand spacing and make the spot up shooting thing work.

I always liked the little things leal did, but his bigger fans have won me over: need to get him consistent rotation mins. Should be doable if we’re gonna play small and split most of MRs ands Ballos mins.

They did play hard and didn’t back down from a team that has physically pounded them the last few times out. It’s something. We will see how consistently they can bring that intensity.
