He was my favorite player growing up and seems to be a good dude. With that said, if his loyalty is with Woody over IU, then good riddance. Get out and don’t bother coming back for all I care. IUs history is so old and hasn’t andded anything to the post Knight era except bitterness and acrimonious politics. Just disavow it and move on. Sad to say, but there’s nothing more the institution can do in that regard than give a guy like Woodson 4 years and millions. The debt has been paid, imo.

There’s only one man for a mid-season tank job: Dan Dakich.

The only thing I will say is that the Illinois player basically instigated the whole thing. And Rices and Ballos reactions weren’t that bad. If we were any good we’d probably be celebrating them for sticking up for their teammates, but not throwing any punches. But we suck, so ultimately who cares.

That’s not exactly true. IPFW had just went D1 and were terrible. He helped build them up, they joined a conference and he had two winning seasons before he left. Incredibly tough job and I think I read he was barely making 6 figures. I’m sure his assistants made nothing. He’s done nothing since that makes me want him at IU, but his stint at Fort Wayne was at least respectable.

Pearl’s son can’t be much worse than the parade of morons we’ve hired in the past. I’d take Pearl’s dog groomer over another season of Woodson.

Michigan is one of 7 teams in the top 20 in offensive and defensive efficiency on kenpom. If that holds he’ll be poised to make another deep run. that would be one heck of a turnaround.
