I think one of fans’ biggest misnomers is that playing time somehow equals development. Players develop in the off season and in practice. Playing guys at the end of the beach minutes they don’t deserve won’t develop them any faster.

We’ll have to play better than today to win at the Khol Center. But if you’re going to play lackluster, it’s better to do it against poorer teams like Nebraska. Tied for 1st in the B1G, baby!!!

Tbf to him, their entire defense is set up to deny or double team him. He’s been fairly patient but he isn’ta good enough passer to make teams pay for it.

Johnson usually gives good effort on D. As someone above said, his impulse control needs work as he lets mistakes compound and turn into dumb fouls and plays. Kopp and Stewart are going to look awesome when they’re hitting and awful when they don’t. They were bright in fit one thing: to address our serious lack of shooting. They do very little else, especially kopp.

Offense has been fine outside of turnovers and effort issues we continually have. Execution isn’t bad. In our “moral” victory we scored 100 points. I can’t do much about outsized expectations. We were a bad team that added a few midmajor and lesser high major role players. Most of these lineups are new and have never played together before.

Bates and leal are moving the ball around and simply getting better shots than the starters did.

I’m confused as to what some expect out of this team. It was always going to be a team fighting for a tourney birth. If you don’t accept some moral victories you’ll be awfully disappointed.

Mostly unforced turnovers. Really disappointed to see guys like parker and kopp come out so unfocused and lazy. They’re role players acting like a freshman 5star making the obligatory stop at memphis before they head to the NBA.

We can shoot and we try and focus entries to tjd. But the turnovers are bad, and we need secondary action if they’re taking tjd away.

Lazy with the ball. Pretty clear they did little to address the turnover issue. These passes are weak and bad.

Kansas had a similar game against St. John’s as we did except when they made their 2nd half run they put their foot on sju’s neck and poured it on. We let them back in the game twice. That’s talent and experience. We’re not Kansas. But it was a decent road win for a new team with a new coach.

Look at the Villanova game. They can’t guard the 3. They’ll get upset in the tourney. May win the big ten though.

Both these guys were great. Kind of sucks to squander a great night by those two they both had dumb turnovers too
