You have any evidence to back that up? That’s quite the claim considering people inside and outside the program claimed the opposite for the longest time. -

Players like XJ don’t exactly improve linearly. It’s not like the staff forgot about him or something. He improved quite a bit early in conf season then seemed to regress around his suspension only to find his form again. -

I can’t put my finger on it. We’re not completely devoid of talent but we’re like the islands of misfit toys. Outside of a TJD post vs some matchups, we have no one thing we can hang our hat on. The players seem like decent enough guys, but the talent, or lack thereof, is frustrating. Let’s hope Woody, being new and all, just put hia trust in the wrong people last year and that can be fixed. The number of guys I care to see back next year is not large. We’ll need talented frosh and a successful transfer market (things I never thought I’d be saying about college basketball) for next year to be better. -

Had a delayed flight, so I got home in time just to see us make our run in the second half. At no point did I even contemplate that we might win. With that said, I give them credit for playing hard and a close game. I predicted worse. I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do as a coach when you continually get your best shooter open looks and he bricks them in big moments. I have zero faith in any of our “shooters” at this point. You also got your best player a run at the hoop on the last oob play and your upperclassman inbounding the ball makes a lazy throw. Maddening if your on the staff. I like our personnel less and less each game. Probably a good thing for me the season is about over. :/ -

I still think 1 win in BTT gives a chance. Two and we’re in. With that said I’m surprised at the hope on her for the Purdue game. I have a feeling it’ll be ugly. -

Which players stepped up when they missed the tourney? Which ones when they won 18 games? -

He was at two bad organizations and did better than the guys before him and after him. But you know… Brad Stevens was .557 coach in the NBA and .477 in the playoffs with what most considered the best roster situation in the NBA at the time. What a loser… -

But Gard has outlier talent. He was left Ethan Happ and a loaded roster. Then he missed the tourney. Then he won 18 games. Then Davis turned into the B1G player of the year. If TJD made the jump Davis did, we’d probably be top 5 in the conf and he’d be B1G PoY. We need talent. And one of our frosh to turn into a Davis-type player. -

seems naive. You assume that if we cheat we’d somehow do it better than UK or UNC. Lmao… Basketball is what Indiana does and we can’t even do that right. But by all means, tell me how we’d out-Kentucky Kentucky because all of a sudden our bagmen and alumni would be better than UK’s. Yes, this seems like a fail proof plan. -

He was on probation and by extension so was IU. We didn’t give ourselves the death penalty. Crean kicked those guys off when he got here. -

And IU had zero shot getting anyone remotely as competent as Woodson. So here we are. IU hired a nobody in mike davis. A retread on probation in Sampson, who promptly screwed us. We begged an average mid major coach in crean to come who had to be paid extra before he even coached a game just so he didn’t leave. And a promising young coach in Archie who crashed and burned in record time. Stevens played IU’s desperation to force out Ainge in Boston and Indiana fans think he was really interested. Literally, no one worth a **** has been remotely close to this job for 20 years. And you guys are talking about poaching successful P5 coaches. It’d be laughable if it weren’t so sad (mainly because I’man IU fan). -

And I reiterate….IU isn’t qualified to land Woodson. He could’ve waited and got another pro job. It isn’t a perfect fit, but IU didn’t do him any favors. If anything, he did IU a favor. -

Bro…Woodson wouldn’t even consider coming here if he didn’t play here. IU doesn’t have a lot of options. Davis, Sampson, Crean, Archie…that isn’t a history that screams people want to coach here. -

Everything you need to know about the IU administration will be known if they accept an NIT bid. Nothing good can come if it. if we flame out of the B1G tourney and miss the NCAAs we should end the season and focus on next year. Anything else is a waste and borderline negligence. -

Nah…win one in the BTT and we’re probably right on the bubble. Who really cares though. I think I’m done with these guys. Nice kids but basketball-wise it’s a tough cheer.
