  1. Even if we make the tourney we’re one and done.
  2. Yea…one of the reasons I was confused by the first game but still hated the matchup. Poor draw for us, imo
  3. Good sub. Goode has been spazzing out
  4. Id pay $10 to sub him out right now for that stoned guy from last time. And I don’t even have the sound on
  5. Would love to see him blow a gasket

    Wouldn’t surprise me.
  7. And then use one to set up the same play we always run to end the half…lol.
  8. Gonna say this won’t end well. Didn’t like the matchup. think Oregon just played bad the first game.
  9. He should’ve stayed on the bench with that shot. Sheesh
  10. It’s a big mystery why teams shoot great against us…until you watch Reneau try to guard the perimeter for even one possession.
  11. I really didn’t think we matched up with them well and couldn’t figure out why the first game was so close. Hopefully your right and we crush them

Mecca is in the holy land. The basketball holy land is Indiana. Even Kansas’s most famous coach agreed. Mecca doesn’t cease being Mecca just because its biggest institution falls into disrepair through poor stewardship. Now repent!

    General Coach Candidate News

His teams can’t get out and defend the 3 and keep two bigs in to protect the paint. It’s not surprising that teams that have good shooting guards that launch a bunch of 3s give Woody trouble. IDK about northwestern. I guess they’re smart and move the ball which gives us trouble. Without looking it up, I’d guess they shoot better than average from 3 against us. And while Woody isn’t a great coach he isn’t flat out awful. If you’re going to be like Painter and run an offense predicated on dumping it into the post every possession, you kind of play right into Woodys hands. Plus it’s a rivalry game…although somebody forgot to tell Archie that.

    General Coach Candidate News

His half court offense is not great. It’s what kills him in the tourney every year. It’s what killed him against Davis where IU held them to 15 points below their average. His next final four was against Wrights Villanova squad where Houston scored a whole 44 points! Can you win a title with him? Sure…he puts together good teams that are athletic and play pressure defense and wear on you for 40 min. But he needs to get lucky in the draw. Teams with good guards who can handle their pressure and/or make it a game off half court offensive execution send him packing every year. And he’s basically been a 1 seed the last four years so you would expect them to make the S16. He’s overrated by the people who think if only IU kept him we’d have another banner by now. Possible, but not close to a sure thing. Probably not even likely given the fact that in about 35 years of coaching at P5 (Houston wasn’t always tho) schools he’s made two Final Fours. At some point you have enough data to establish a trend. You want to kill the IU administration for passing on a scumbag that cost us a banner then lament not going after Pitino. Or complain that we didn’t go after Beilein. All much better coaches than Sampson.

The way some of you pine for Sampson you have no room to complain about any decent coach IU hires. Sampson is 70 years old. He’s been a head coach since the 80’s. He’s been to a whopping 2 FFs in his entire career, never advancing to the championship game. He got beat by Mike Davis in one of those FFs. He is a good coach, but you guys seriously overrate him in an effort to rewrite history. He completely screwed IU over but we were supposed to cover for him because he had Elston and Pritchard coming in? Lmao…

    2025 B1G Mens Basketball Tournament

Not the season ol’ Ruger expected when they signed those big recruits. I still can’t believe that game Bailey had against us.

I think they were just trying to talk up OSU a little by comparing noncons. They also said if osu, Texas, and unc is in then Indiana is in.

So did Woody. Somehow I don’t think you’ll convince this crowd he was a good hire.

NET using a more ELO style system doesn’t bother me too much since winnings should matter. But their SoS shouldn’t diverge from a pure predictor model that much. But nothing surprises me with the NCAA.

The thing about Stevens being so young is we can easily do this 2, maybe 3, more times in future coaching searches.

    Chris Beard - Coaching Candidate

Anyone that has dealt with these types of situations would have likely understood this from reading the police report. These things are rarely a one-off or happen by “accident.” They are typically a pattern of repeating and escalating behaviors until something bad enough happens there’s an intervention. In this case, and in many cases, that intervening moment was the police being called and an arrest being made. But because these things are generally a series of repeating behaviors it doesn’t end with that single intervention, but require an actual committed change in behavior by the offending party.

I put him in the Tony Bennett category of “would be a home run but the timing is awful.” Also, like Bennett, who knows if he is even coming back to college ball. If he wasn’t willing to step down early for the UK job it means he likely wants to still pursue opportunities in the NBA. If he’s anything like his mentor, Donovan has another ten years of championship level coaching left. Stevens (to the extent anyone credibly believes he’s a candidate) has the same issue. Up and leaving the Celtics job in the middle of a title run is a bit of a black mark for when he wants to return to the NBA. IU can’t wait until June. Just one of the many reasons it isn’t happening.

Depends what it looks like behind the scene. Absolutely need somebody better than Woodson to retain your job, essentially a high floor / low ceiling guy: then get Brownell. All the BoT Woody backers have been excised and the Cig hire gives you some flexibility to swing for the fences? Go for your favorite mid major guy.
