lol….no. I couldn’t imagine a way to know anything less about what is going on than listening to the basketball media. Devries could suck…like I care. Same thing for 25 years going. I’m used to it. One thing I know for sure is someone named Norlander/Parrish will have zero idea of how it’s going to go down.
-
Yep. Just stay in the top 4 of the B1G
-
No coaches would. It gets handed off to a grad assistant. Same as their votes in the actual coaches poll.
-
Archie was hamstrung because he sucked at coaching. Period. And everyone loved him and he won those offseason polls. I wouldn’t pay attention to them. Those polls are voted on by the likes of Mike Woodson and Fran and Crean and a bunch of other coaches who want to fill out media surveys. Literally worthless.
-
He’s going to win the PR game at least.

Even with sub optimal athletic talent you should be above those bad Fran and crean teams with competent coaching. I hope we don’t see that. It would be troubling to be 100ish or worse in D-eff

The defense played well and won the game for us. But those early completions were often on obvious passing downs—3rd and 5 or longer—and we just played soft coverage there. I sensed the strategy was more just don’t let them get anything big over the top, which is a perfectly viable strategy. Ordinarily, that would’ve been enough to let our offense pull away, but really it was the offense that struggled. I’m not entirely convinced that that soft zone cover on 3rd down would’ve held up late in a close game if Gronkowski didn’t go down (and IU may well have adjusted). In any event it is all academic now. The D came up big when they needed to on the road. I think Iowa is pretty tough but they have a tough schedule and probably won’t have a great record at the end. Maybe they can knock off one of PSU or Oregon. -
Funny that the euros pee down their leg the last day tho. Had they not gifted hoveland a half point things might be different. Either way, the USA has to figure out how to compete in the team portion.
-
And Michigan beat the Alabama team SEC fans wanted in over teams like IU. Once other schools started paying players the SEC magic seems to have vanished. (Oddly enough that doesn’t apply in basketball). They’re crazy. He has them as good as they’ve been since the 90’s.

Yep. That’s the one I was screaming about. The clock operator was trying to home cook us all game and the officials weren’t setting them straight. I fully get why Cig was mad. -

Way better ways to handle that…lol. He could’ve just run out the back of the endzone. He probably gave a couple fans a heart attack. -

If 46 went fit the kick he would’ve got it. Lucky there was no flag. Nice little momentum play either way tho -

Yea, as much as I love out toughing a tough opponent maybe you just have to let your Heisman candidate quarterback, throw it a few times -

Safety was just cover for them to put in rules that favor scoring/offense. Normies love scoring -

Getting dominated in the trenches on both sides. Old school Iowa staple. Will be a dog fight -

Ok…they’re having no problem with the soft zone on 3rd and 5. Maybe switch it up next time -

Yep. Old school slug fest helps them. I like cig going run heavy early though to hopefully wear them down. -
Yea. I really like Rahm and Fleetwood. But I would easily cheer against them if anyone on team USA showed a pulse. Golfing again tomorrow because this thing is o-v-e-r.
-
Props to team USA for losing this thing early enough for me to golf and watch college football all day

I’m with Cig on this being a tough test. A lot of good teams went into that stadium and have come out with a loss or nearly lost, historically speaking. It’s also kind of natural to have little bit of a letdown after a big victory like last week. Just win baby! -
I hate to defend the NCAA but I see what they’re doing here. I don’t see what separates him from any of these kids, including our own, that played professionally in Europe. He’s not a US high school player. He didn’t play in the NBA. He went from the African academy to a low level pro league very similar to what the European kids who get ncaa eligibility do. The only thing that separates the G league from a run of the mill euro league is location, but I’m not sure why that would matter in this case.

I always forget this board is over here and go to the main board looking for the news. Wasn’t much action on this front during the Woody years anyways. -
Man, T Boone was made for the NIL era. He redid a bunch their facilities from football to golf. He would’ve spent to the moon on players if he thought it would bring them a title.
