Should probably note as well, if you look up symbolism of a Jackal it doesn't exactly scream "trustworthy truth teller randomly coming and going to a free anonymous message board with good intentions". Interesting choice of a username for someone not trolling If anyone wants us to believe them like Chris (who faces the music when wrong, gives actual reasoning/details for why he says things) because you actually have info or just want to troll some strangers, at least put in some effort to build up trust

Personally, don't think it means too much whether he comes here or not. I would guess the theory that it's a sign for IU goes like this, last time to see son with Notre Dame as a fan or last time son is on Notre Dame because he'd transfer to walk-on for IU. Don't think any of our scoops guys have said the son would come to IU or anything, just going off Izzo/Hurley/etc had their kids walk-on for them and would guess if Brad were to actually come he'd consider wanting that too

I'm in on McCollum (personally I go Stevens, May, Otz, McCollum), but this is a good point because the lack of threes and shooters with both Archie and Woodson have been maddening. Can't really find stuff on his D2 team's stats outside of going each individual year on the team website, but for share of 3 pointers on Torvik (labelled as 3PT Rate on the individual team pages) here's what we have for the main candidates this year and where Indiana is right now. Looks like 3PT Share is a percent compared to long 2s, close 2s, and dunks for each team. Results aren't a defense of any candidate, just for comparison sake since it's an interesting point https://www.barttorvik.com/teampbp.php?sort=10&year=2025&conlimit= Creighton/McDermott - 49.7, 8th in NCAA (highest power conference team) Michigan/May - 42.5, 90th (3rd of B10 teams) Baylor/Drew - 40.9, 133rd Mississippi/Beard - 40.2, 151st Clemson/Brownell - 38.8, 175th Drake/McCollum - 36.9, 226th Iowa State/Otz - 36.5, 245th Indiana/Woodson - 33.6, 316th

Going through Drake stats last year though, 5 of their top 6 guys in minutes did transfer out. Not the same exact DeVries entire roster that made the NCAA tournament last year. Definitely have to consider the spotlight at IU would be drastically different than Drake, but it's not like he's just Bruce Weber taking advantage of a Bill Self built Illinois team.

The media also hated the Woodson hire and made fun of it though too. So arguably, they got that right. Think everyone just stinks at knowing how a coach will turn out

I like that the people you've been hearing from saying we're in a good spot still feel confident. Am kinda curious that since you said Hoosier Connect people thought we were out along with maybe some others, have the doubters changed their thoughts on whether we have a chance?

Why did that plane following the Celtics eventually come back to Indy? Christie Recent ties to the state of Indiana? Christie Big ten assistant coaching experience? Christie (w)NBA coaching experience? Christie Everyone saying Scott had his guy all along were right...but also wrong. All along Scott had his girl

I know I'll probably get made fun of here like DMV, but have scrolled through all the Chris Beard discourse now even leading into Chris Mack discussion. Hearing Chris is a real candidate. Watch out for Chris(tie) Sides........

That's similar to what makes me skeptical about the plane tracking the other day. It's definitely interesting that Pfau's plane has been following the Celtics schedule, but especially when people have mentioned how past coaches didn't have too frequent of a back-and-forth during the hiring process it seems like he could be letting Stevens family or someone else use the plane. Would love for it to be IU closing the deal and do think he's at least considered the offer, just get the idea that even a guy like Osterman would be avoiding a take on Stevens instead of pretty much dismissing it at this point. Love the rumors here during coach search seasons though, whether it's the guys who have built credibility or the new accounts that pop out of nowhere. So love the theories and whispers whether right or wrong

I hate that this led me to looking up our conference record history. Since Crean's first year in 2009, 4 seasons above .500 in conference. 3 by Crean and 1 by Woodson. Ugh.

It's frustrating me that I don't remember which pod it was because I listened to one right after the other (I think it was Osterman's Mind Your Banners). Either way, yeah they brought up UCLA was kinda hurting for cash and joining the Big Ten was huge from a money perspective to go along with the Pac12 collapsing in general. Going off what you're saying about Big Ten/SEC gobbling everyone up, if he were to think Baylor would get gobbled up soon then I could see how he might not really care that IU has more resources right this minute. Seen the argument on here for why Drew could consider us despite turning down Kentucky last year too, not sure if I fully buy it but wouldn't hate him here.

I think the main things are maybe a bigger salary and then money being better in Big Ten/SEC than Big 12 these upcoming years with all of realignment/tv deals/etc. Either Osterman or Galen on CrimsonCast (maybe both) mentioned something about don't be surprised if some Big 12 names pop up this coaching search for the latter reasons

Kinda random question @Chris007. I've been lurking this season but logged in for the first time in forever today. You had some post around the Sam Story talk about what the "HC guys" were saying. What does that stand for? Hoosiers Connect? Was bothering me more than it should that I couldn't figure it out at the time

A reason I've kinda thought Brad seems possible aside from what Chris/Jerry/RTZ/AP post, I sneaky think the Celtics might have to make some big roster moves the next few years (maybe not Tatum/Brown, but White/Holiday/Porzingis all making big money) and Brad might want to dip a little early like Bob with the Warriors or Theo with the Cubs. All the NBA teams have been pretty scared about the luxury tax with the new CBA and although the Celtics don't pay anything too crazy this year in penalties ($60M or so), next year they are on pace to pay around $250M. Bobby Marks has talked about how the Celtics are on pace to be the first $500M basketball team next season (payroll+lux tax penalties) too. Maybe their ownership would be willing to pay huge penalties for multiple years, but feel like there are many who clearly do not. Same way Myers left a year after a championship and before having to be the guy to let a Splash Brother walk (even if Klay isn't really the same Klay anymore) or Theo left the Cubs when it was becoming clear big changes were coming, curious if he would view this as a way to do the same. Could be wishful thinking, but when teams like TWolves are trading KAT for lux tax flexibility or the Mavs being scared of Luka long term on the payroll, makes me wonder if that comes into play weighing options

Heads up, the "For You" section is based on following/tweets you liked so it's trending but trending for topics you are interested in. If you go over to the right twice to the "Trending" it'll be the tweets trending nationwide. With that well-actually aside, your point still stands. People are talking!!

They used to use this one to tweet stuff that would get taken down later (like when MLB would take down any tweeted video from people without rights, before the time you could tweet a video from another account and it still gives the original video the views). Now it looks like they just use it to tweet blog stories

The hype has me me believing that Brad is listening to Mississippi Half-Step "Hello, baby, I'm gone, goodbye Half a cup of rock and rye Farewell to you old southern skies I'm on my way, on my waaaaaaaaaaaaaayy"

Another homeless wanderer from HSN here (sorry not an insider, but do enjoy posting stats/trends). Love Assembly Call but Ryan does try to act a little smarter than he is at times and I'm not sure he's that much in the know. In the 19-20 season when Fire Archie talk came up in a post-game youtube show he was saying how we wouldn't because of the buyout and when several people in chat mentioned how his contract (like Crean's and most coaches) have it so a new job cancels out a good portion of the buyout he looked dumbfounded when he was reading it. Know Chris or IUWins did mention that the schools do still need to have the money for bookkeeping reasons but I just know he isn't always totally on his stuff. That being said, I've been listening to Assembly Call since 2015 and he is a nice perspective change from Jerrod/Andy/Coach.
