  1. IU has offered 6'8" PF Trey Thompson from Tennessee. Purdue has been on him for a while and may be the team to beat but he seems open to other schools and is still planning on visiting other places. Says he wants to visit IU. 247 Here's a nice highlight:
  2. IU has offered 6'8", 205 lb C Davion Adkins of Dallas. Has a 7'2" wingspan. Will probably play PF at the college level. 247 has him with a 95 rating which is a 4*, 23rd overall and the #1 center in the class. The 247 composite has ranked similarly at 25th and the #1 center. Some other schools on his list are ASU, Cal, Houston, Kansas, KSU, LSU, Oregon, Rutger, Texas, and Texas Tech. 247 Back in April, Trevor Andershock described him as an impressive shot blocker who is quick off his feet with good timing. He said Adkins is offensively "raw with his back to the basket but has ball skills." From his 247 page linked above: Scouting Report Evaluated 12/23/2024 Adam FinkelsteinDirector of Scouting Adkins is one of the most naturally talented frontcourt prospects in the class of 2026 and while his tools have been glaring for some time now, he's just starting to turn potential into production at a more consistent rate. A long and athletic southpaw, Adkins is every bit of his listed 6-foot-8 with a massive 7-foot-2 wingspan, and huge hands. He's a bouncy vertical athlete and major lob threat who can rise-up for emphatic finishes. He also has soft natural touch and clear long-term shooting potential that should eventually allow him to stretch the floor both vertically and to the arc. Adkins is much more of a play finisher than he is a playmaker at this point. He's just starting to develop some footwork around the paint, but needs to continue getting stronger, raise his release point in the lane, improve his right hand, and ability to put the ball on the floor when facing up. Defensively, he can be an impactful rebounder and rim protector when he's fully locked in, but possesses plenty of other untapped potential on that end as well.
  3. Aaron Shackell joins his siblings at IU which is unsurprising. I'm happy but skeptical, just like when his siblings joined since this family seems to have real commitment issues when it comes to universities. https://swimswam.com/us-olympian-aaron-shackell-announces-he-will-transfer-to-indiana/

Rabby says another name to know for 2026 is Aiden Derkack, a 6'5" SG. He's from NJ, so you know what to do @Home Jersey. https://247sports.com/player/aiden-derkack-46136996/

2026 DB Lawrence "Jay" Timmons to FSU

I often wonder why football players even bother announcing commitments since they just seem to be more of who the current leader is since flipping in football is so common. Good for him getting to play for his dream school. One thing that seemed odd was he says he's never been a big sports fan yet he's going to be a high major college player.
  6. IU has offered 6'8' Caleb Gaskins from Miami, FL. 5*, 247 composite #12. I've seen him listed as a SF and a PF but his twitter account says G. 247 I don't know if this is behind a paywall or not: https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/indiana-basketball-recruiting-5-star-class-of-2026-forward-caleb-gaskins-lands-indiana-scholarship-offer-christopher-columbus-nightrydas-249661794/
  7. The staff has offered 6'5" SF Malachi Jordan from Tennessee. Plays for MoKan Elite AAU team. Rod Clark has a prior relationship, recruited him for UT. 247 Trevor Andershock describes him as a big time athlete who is more of a traditional wing who can slash and hit from the outside as well as rebound well.
  8. IU has offered 6'7" SF Bruce Branch from Gilbert, AZ. AAU teammate of Cameron Williams. 247

(2026) - SF Sammy Jackson to VCU

I understand that it's the home school, but a recruit choosing St Joe's over IU would be a kick in the nuts. I'd still be surprised if it's not UT or IU. I think (with no evidence other than last visit right before the announcement and longer relationship with the staff/HC) that UT is the likely choice but IU is first in the picture and he does seem to be looking at himself in the IU uniform so....

(2026) - SF Sammy Jackson to VCU

We're not Duke so we're not going to have a roster full of top 30 players. This guy is 6'7" who has PG skills since he played that position until a growth spurt. Ranked in the top 100 in the 247 composite ranking and has multiple other P5 offers, including Auburn who has been quite good under Pearl. I'm not really sure what there is to be so skeptical about but you don't seem to like much of what this staff has done so I guess that makes sense. If it makes you feel better, I suspect that he'll end up at Texas so you won't have to worry about it. That staff has been recruiting him longer and he visits them right before announcing his decision.

    2025-2026 IU Roster

From what I've seen, it sounds like up to $2.5M in scholarships above the old roster limit will count against the amount of revenue sharing a school can pay. In effect, revenue sharing is used to pay for the scholarships. That's my understanding, at least. So NIL paying for school with no scholarship or revenue sharing paying for the scholarship seems like basically the same thing. https://businessofcollegesports.com/other/new-roster-limits-set-by-house-v-ncaa/ New Scholarships Can Be Created It’s not all bad news. Schools do have the option to increase scholarships in sports where the previous scholarship limits were lower than the new roster limits. It was initially anticipated that not many would do this, as the value of new scholarships up to $2.5 million will count against the amount a school can distribute for revenue sharing.

    (2025) - G Aleksa Ristic to Indiana

I like this pick up from out of the blue. Another shooter and a combo guard with good size. He'll also be 20 at the start of the season with experience against players in the top Serbian league. From looking at his stats it looks like he is a decent rebounder for a guard, is a willing passer, and can get steals (although not consistently). It looks like he can get a bit sloppy with the ball, though. I guess consistency might be something he needs to work on. Edit: Reading on peegs that he's expected to be a depth/development player next year so don't expect too much in year 1.
  16. 6' 10", 190 lb Center from Pike HS in Indy. https://247sports.com/player/isaiah-hill-46151693/ This is one the new staff is starting to look at. Drew Adams is going to see him tonight.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

It's new to football. They previously had to be full scholarship or no scholarship for a few sports like football and basketball. Other sports already had partial scholarships.

    2027 General Recruiting Thread (IUBB)

I expect we'll soon start getting reports of who the staff reached out to today. An idea of who and which positions they are prioritizing at this time for that class.

(2026) - Kohl Rosario to Kansas

Interesting. He's a high 3*/low 4* but his offer list looks like someone who is top 30. One that the schools think the recruiting services have missed on, it looks like.

Has on OV to IU set for next week, June 17-18. In addition to the prior relationship with Clark, he also knows Kenny Johnson. Says he's "my guy" and was recruiting him for GT.

    IU Basketball News and Notes

I saw that the change for the women included a technical if they lost the challenge. Kind of dumb. It's not like they have a bunch of challenges they can use to abuse the system, just the 1. Edit: I read the release from the NCAA. This actually makes sense. The women don't need a timeout to challenge, but if they do that then fail the challenge they'll be assessed the technical for excessive timeouts. So they actually have more options to use the challenge than the men do. The wording from the release: Teams will not be required to have a timeout to make a video review challenge in NCAA women's basketball competition. However, a failed challenge will result in a technical foul for an excessive timeout.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

He injured his knee at the end of last season so he wouldn't have played or practiced this season. He is temporarily off the roster because of that. He is still helping out with the team as a student coach. The expectation is that he'll be back on the roster in 2026.
