What really pisses me off is the terrible reason for keeping him. "We gave the previous s#!tty coach too long so we have to be fair and give this s#!tty coach too long, as well." This is a big part of why I didn't want an IU former player hired in the first place - they'd have a hard time justifying firing him despite how bad they were doing so they'd keep him too long. The other part was that none of the IU former players are good coaches.

Maybe they'll pay May $2M to come as coach in waiting for next season and then Woodson is out after 1 more season. Nah, who am I kidding? IU wouldn't even do something like that. They'll let Woodson run this into the ground.

Same here about growing up in Btown and going to Purdue. I can't bring myself to root for Purdue but I can sure stop watching IU. I live in AZ now so maybe I'll just become a UofA fan.

I can see both sides of the argument on May and I'm kind of in the middle but leaning more towards the pessimistic side than the optimistic side. So May wouldn't really excite me as a hire. I'm used to being disappointed and/or not excited by IU basketball hires at this point so it's par for the course. He's not Woodson so there's that.

That seems pretty obvious and common. I don't see why a Kansas fan or student would really be plugged in to the thinking of McNeeley. I'm not doubting what they're saying is true, because I believe that as well, just that this is anything more than them stating their beliefs without any more info than what we have.
