LEW!

Don't mind Trish. They'll complain regardless.
-
IU did their part to help 2 more deserving schools play in bowl games.
-
Not only does he have that hazing scandal, but even before that his record his last few years was IU bad. 3 out of 4 seasons with 1-8 conference records. And that was in the B1G west which was even weaker than usual during that time. Hard pass from me.
-
Make it happen, Dolson. Anything less will be disappointing.
-
The upside of that is that the program should be in a very good state when he does get hired away, making IU more attractive to good replacements. It would also show that it is possible to win at IU.
-
Try this one. Probably the same list as above but I can read this one while the the one you responded to is behind a paywall, as you say. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2023/11/26/indiana-hoosiers-football-tom-allen-fired-iu-coaching-candidates-justin-frye-antwaan-randle-el/71678895007/

Firing Allen despite his almost $21M buyout makes it look like IU may actually care about football. Now they need to follow that up with a real coaching search, not another half-a**ed search like they'd done in the past. Dolson needs to get some people who know football and can recognize good coaching to help him out. They also need to be prepared to pay the new head coach and his assistants well. Otherwise, what's the point of paying a bunch of money for a payout just to go cheap on the next hire? They also need to commit to spending money on upgraded and/or new football facilities soon as well as being willing to spend money on recruiting. This would help convince potential coaches they'll get the support they need to be successful at the least successful P5 program in history.
-
They could also have had different buyouts for different situations. IU could have given a large buyout if Allen leaves on his own (i.e., if another school hires him away) without also having a huge buyout to fire him if he can't continue to win.

I totally agree and I've said the same.

You beat me to the exact gif while I was looking for it.

Anything yet?

You don't need to wait until then to cancel, at least if you did the year subscription. You can cancel now and will still have access for the next year. That's what I did.

(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland

That's true but I think we'll see less of that with NIL if the reason they would choose to go pro despite likely being undrafted is financial. -

TJD was a 2nd rounder but he could have gone earlier. He and his agent purposefully tanked their position to get to GS's selection. But, yes, I agree that Reneau would likely go undrafted. -
I don't think he has the mentality it takes to become good at the college level or beyond.

MSU will really miss his 2 ppg

"Aimaq's agent, Daniel Poneman": how things change. The rest of the article: how they don't.

What am I missing? His really good DII record? He did get to 4 bowl games but lost 3 of those. Granted, this year will be 3 in a row but this resume doesn't really say he'd be a good hire for IU. A few outlier seasons like the losing seasons in the beginning and the current winning season but mostly around .500 at a MAC school doesn't inspire confidence that he'd be the same or better at IU. This would be such an IU move. He's 54-61 at Miami, with most years being around .500 so he hasn't exactly been killing it despite being 9-2 this year. If this is the route Dolson wants to go, it'd be better to just have another year of Allen to save money.

There are many aspects to coaching. Some Crean was good at, others he wasn't. He was good at individual player development. He also had some very efficient offenses. He isn't a good game coach. He also had problems maintaining a consistent level of competition. This was due to his inconsistent recruiting and taking too many chances on players he thought he could develop.

To add to this, the games on Peacock will be professionally produced. BTN+ are amateur student productions. BTN+ is a pure money grab and very overpriced for what you receive vs any other streaming service.

They tend to have a lot of continuity which helps then early in the season but didn't leave them much room for improvement during the season.
