(2024) - SF Bryson Tucker to Washington via Portal
go iu bb replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can he actually receive the scholarship part of that? I know there used to be some restrictions on academic scholarships for athletes. I'm not sure if those restrictions are still there or if they included scholarships that weren't through the schools. -

Remember that if you want to talk to Mike Woodson, you come to Mike Woodson. He's also apparently added that if Mike Woodson wants to talk to you, you come to Mike Woodson. So all of what you said except in the place of Mike Woodson's choosing, not LA. -

Dude. This what not an employer/employee nor a romantic relationship. It was the type of relationship where this didn't have to be handled in person, a zoom meeting would have sufficed. Again, it was a power play so that Woodson could sit there and ***** and moan at him about his hurt feelings. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)

If Colorado is a serious contender then IU should have a chance. -

HH are NOT employees of IU or Woodson despite what Woodson and, apparently, you seem to believe. Making him come to Bloomington for this to happen was a power play Woodson used to to stroke his own ego. -

A summary of how IU killed it in the transfer portal. I notice you ignore the second part of the post. As to your point in this post, it is totally incorrect. That was not during a post game presser and it wasn't about a specific recruit. Here is the quote from the article you linked. But again, Woodson didn't do any of that Friday morning in a Zoom press conference. Instead, he answered with the same abruptness that mirrored his response Wednesday night to job-related questions. Reporter: "I know you guys as a program put a lot of time and effort into the recruiting. How concerned are you at this point in terms of how 2024, the class has turned out to this point?" Woodson: "I'm not going to talk about recruiting with you guys. I'm just not. Your blind defense of a bad coach makes me feel sorry for you. -

He also refused to answer questions about recruiting. It's right there in your link. That is a question about how he's doing his job, not about his job. In addition, on January 10: Q: "One of the biggest questions that fans were asking on social media, why were four starters out at the same time versus sort of rolling them through? WOODSON: "I'm not going to sit here and answer that question when it comes to the fans — or you. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/what-indiana-coach-mike-woodson-said-after-loss-at-rutgers-we-were-awful -

Those weren't questions on his job status. They were questions on his (bad) coaching decisions. -

Yes, wins are what fans care about. It's also what makes differentiates coaches so it's an attribute of a good coach. -

Actually winning isn't an attribute of a good coach? A coach could build a roster that looks good on paper through a large amount of NIL and still not win as much as he should. In fact, that is likely what IU will see next season. A good coach gets the team to play better than the sum of its parts. That isn't Woodson since none of his teams so far have even played as good as the sum of their parts. Woodson's X's and O's are from the '90s and there have been multiple embarrassing events under his "leadership." -

At least he wasn't given an extension when he received the raise for just making it into the tournament and winning 1 whole game there with TJD and JHS. If it's true that Dolson had his hands tied (which I kind of doubt), he should still have the power to not extend Woodson so we're looking at 3 or less years remaining with him as the coach. -

I find the HH guys kind of annoying but I'm otherwise indifferent towards them so them losing access doesn't bother me. What does bother me is arrogance and thin skin shown by the head coach who hasn't done anything to justify that arrogance. The more I see of him, the less I like him. I expect more of the same excuses when this team underperforms its talent level. -
This is one of the few things the NCAA has actually been consistent with. I'm pretty sure they've already rejected a few of these this offseason and no reason to think anything will change on their stance before next offseason.

What would be their incentive for not going public or the deterrent to keep them from doing so? They're already cut off from the program from the way it sounds. I doubt Dolson can get that access back so he's left with a deterrent. Cut them off from other programs? They'd just go public with that, too, and show that the IU admin is hurting NIL efforts. That wouldn't be a good look and it would make the IU admin look worse than Woodson. -
https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/woodson-says-illinois-transfer-luke-goode-has-shown-he-can-make-shots-this-summer/ Making shots in the summer hasn't been an issue, it's been making them during games which has. IU has had plenty of off-season snipers the past few years who couldn't make them when they counted. That said, he's been able to make them during games in the past so he should be able to at IU as well. The bigger question is will the volume be enough to really matter?

This was predicted to be the case by many people if IU ever hired a former player. Our fears have come true. It was usually thought to be a different former player who would get hired then underperform but not get fired while being very arrogant about it. Same result with Woodson though. -

go iu bb replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That be quite the class. Just like the Fland/Queen/McNeeley class people thought we were going to get. So far this staff has been much better with the short recruitments than the long ones so I guess we'll see if they get that figured out. It seems that IU is already losing traction with Sisley in the view of message boards. It wasn't too long ago that he was considered close to a lock, now not so much. -

Capobianco won the 3m springboard so IU went 1-2 in that event between him and Tyler. I looked at the results and saw that Henninger finished 3rd so IU actually went 1-2-3. Awesome. https://swimswam.com/capobianco-wins-mens-3-meter-schnell-claims-womens-10-meter-at-u-s-diving-trials/
