Marian vs Indiana (exhibition) Fri. 11/1 7PM BTN+
go iu bb replied to Dave from Dayton's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You know, if they're hanging me I'd complain regardless of the newness of the rope. In fact, I'd rather they hang me with an old rope in the hopes that it was worn and breaks. -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
go iu bb replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
https://247sports.com/longformarticle/indiana-louisville-headline-college-basketball-teams-that-were-scared-were-wrong-about-238918766/#2528585 This guy says that Woodson is the reason they didn't pick IU to win the B1G this year. Basically says they have a chance with all the talent they have despite having Woodson as coach. https://www.si.com/college-basketball/mens-college-basketball-best-and-worst-case-scenarios-for-ap-preseason-top-25 SI also has their doubts about Woodson's ability/willingness to make changes to his system. -
(2025) PG Chance Mallory to Virginia
go iu bb replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I agree with what you said about Woodson but I'm with Stuhoo on this. We've had (mostly) big guards during Woodson's time and the perimeter D has been less than ideal. Imagine what it would look like with someone 5'9" (max). /shudder -
If IU wins enough to be on the CFP bubble, the fact that they will have played 3 of those teams will be all the excuse needed to leave them out, unfortunately. I hope they just win out to remove any doubt. Best case would be OSU beats PSU and IU beats OSU to make it to the B1G Championship game.

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving
go iu bb replied to LIHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
The men have a commitment from swimswam's top diving recruit for 2025. Right now he's strictly platform but the belief is that he can also do well in the springboard events: https://swimswam.com/the-top-10-ncaa-diving-recruits-in-the-boys-high-school-class-of-2025/ The women have a commitment from their #2 recruit: https://swimswam.com/top-10-ncaa-diving-recruits-in-the-girls-high-school-class-of-2025/ One thing to note is that it appears it's just 1 person doing these rankings. Still, IU has a great diving program so I trust the coaches that these are great recruits. -

Man, that's a terrible picture of Triple C.

Gameday Advice for IU Football Experience
go iu bb replied to HoosierFan1994's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Of course, many of the offensive stats that they're likely using to determine their prediction were made with Rourke as the QB. So indirectly it is a prediction with him at the helm playing 100%. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
go iu bb replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
IU still has Jackson and Cherry on the roster already getting familiar with the system and being developed by the coaching staff. Plus, they seem to have an eye for talent so the portal is always an option as well if Lewis decides to go to Colorado (definitely possible) or stay with USC (looking more and more unlikely). -

I talked about the coaches and the selection committee, not the players. Yes, the players care. Other than that, it doesn't count. Both teams are still 0-0 on the season. -

Oh dear, angry_rando_dude_1971 just called me a loser on a message board since I don't agree with him. Oh dear, I'm so very hurt. I would also point out that you have posted more in that thread recently than I have and possibly more than I have overall. You do your part to keep it going. Keep up the good work of keeping it alive! -

Because it was an exhibition game? Win or lose, it doesn't count and the coaches treat it that way. You won't see this win being considered when tournament selection comes around since it was just an exhibition game. Kind of weird and desperate to prove the doubters wrong by thumbing your chest after an exhibition win, but you do you. I disagree that there would have been a meltdown if IU had lost this game. Maybe if they lose to Marian there would be, but not on the road at Tennessee. -

Faint praise is all he's earned. Yeah, he recruited the portal well this year but his teams have underperformed each year. -
Only a 4 hour drive for me. I might just go. Have a few years to see what the team will be like to know if it'll be worth it.

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
go iu bb replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
So, in the midst of the best IU football season in over 50 years, you ***** about guys who still need to ***** about the basketball coach. Sad. So sad. No one is forcing you to read it. -
I think CC wants to be known as the guy who made IU great. He needs to be here for more than 1-2 years for that. At least, that's my hope.

Purdue wouldn't have been nearly as good if Edey had been officiated fairly. He won't get that benefit in the NBA.

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
go iu bb replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes, he has a massive ego but there is one thing that is being overlooked but you and others. The raise he got didn't include an extension. That means that after this year, he has 2 years left on his contract. In college, unlike the pros, that is extend or let go decision time. All Dolson has to do is to tell Woodson that he isn't getting an extension and push him into retirement. If he loves IU like he claims, that is the choice he'll make since his staying with short time on his contract will completely kill his already pathetic HS recruiting and would even hurt his portal recruitment for players with multiple years of eligibility left. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn
go iu bb replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Right, because IU fans and media are always super focused on the 5* players we get. Like all the talk about Tucker. Oh, wait. -
Sure, if it was a compound fracture. That would be much more serious and would likely have ended his season.

go iu bb replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Eh, nothing wrong with that. When a recruit chooses another school I lose interest immediately. I don't wish them ill, but I also don't wish them well. They just become unimportant to me. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
go iu bb replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
There's also Cherry. He was a 4* so he was thought to be pretty good too. Now the concern for Lewis might be that the coaching staff he commits to won't be here next year. A familiar concern for IU fans, but for the opposite reason as usual. -
That was more luck for IU than planning by the B1G. Michigan are the defending national champs and were highly ranked (top 10) before the season. Washington were the runners up and, while they weren't ranked, are usually a good team that could've ended up ranked, especially when gifted win by playing IU.
