Yes. Let's fire Mike Woodson and not un-fire Davis or Miller. Maybe this time put forth real effort and thought into the hiring process.

The problem here (as with many of the other problems the NCAA has had) is inconsistency. There are other routes players take between HS and NCAA which don't count against them even though they're still competing. Prep school is one of the examples given. This is a problem of the NCAA's own making.

Davis' recruiting was a big problem and it certainly wouldn't have been helped by more money. He wasn't good at evaluating talent, instead he just went after the highest rated players he could find. He didn't care if they actually fit. Money may have helped him land some of his misses but it wouldn't have made him better at that. He also had problems putting together a well rounded roster with depth since he didn't take fit or roster building into account - just their ranking. It's interesting how after 7+ seasons of Miller and Woodson, even Davis starts to look good to some people and a few wish for a return of Crean. No thanks.

I believe that was @Stuhoo. I'm more interested in seeing the new names that come up rather than the 3 retreads you mentioned above. McCollum is a (mostly) new name but he already has his own thread. We already have a couple of interesting names and there will probably be 1 or 2 more to add before the end of the season. There usually is a late season darling or two.

At least with him you know if they're not winning it's not for lack of effort. The same can't be said about the current or previous IU coaches.

Notre Dame suspended their men's swim program for the year because of gambling by a large number of the athletes. Are they the only sport on campus which did that? Highly doubtful.

Doesn't look like much of a receiving threat but maybe he's a good blocker? Also, they're not all going to be starter quality. IU needs some depth as well. He's played 34 games for a B1G team the last 3 years so he brings experience at this level with a team that has been good more often than not.

I listened to the podcast. #2 - I took that as the bigger issue is that going on recruiting trips was more about the golf than the actual recruiting. #4 - I recall it was more that Woodson thought they were playing another team than they actually were, not that they actually repaired to play that team. Came to the meeting thinking they were playing MSU (based on a prediction) instead of UM and asked who was scouting MSU. Ya made a joke about it being the wrong team and that set Woodson off. So Woodson didn't even bother to find out who IU was actually playing before going into the meeting, just went by a prediction he saw. Then was thin-skinned and took offense to a joke.

Assuming all the smoke about Buckner using is position to force the Woodson hire and then to keep him when he obviously wasn't up to the job is correct, it could be a political minefield to appoint him again. Re-appointing someone that abused his power? Not a good look.

My understanding is that his term on the BoT is ending, not just as the chairman. He could be appointed by the governor again, but whether or not that happens remains to be seen. What also remains to be seen is if he even wants another term, as some on here have said he doesn't.

Buckner's term is up summer 2025. He's a lame duck who can't force another year of Woodson.
