When was the last time a high-major coach kept coaching in the last 2 years of his contract? I don't recall any but I don't follow other schools' coaching situations that closely. I highly doubt it's very often as they'll get extended before that. So those that think he'll be back should ask themselves whether he's done enough to get an extension. I'd think that barely getting into the tournament when the preseason expectations were competing for a B1G title and S16+ wouldn't warrant one. Or will IU be one of the few schools that lets its coach get close to the end of his contract, knowing that it hurts recruiting - it would hurt portal recruiting as well as HS.

The 4 games before IU their percentages from 3: 32.4, 21.4, 22.2, 26.7 So yes, you are correct, they haven't been shooting well recently although I'd say it's 3 games instead of 4 since they hit 11 3s against Coppin State. The expectations were quite high entering the season, as I stated. Barely making the tournament followed by the customary blowout would be yet another underperforming season. Would the big spenders really be happy with that return? Doubtful. Dolson didn't appear to be behind him after last season. This season won't change his mind. He'll have more pull after the season his football hire just had. He might be able to get Whitten on his side. Buckner will be in the last few months of his term, i.e. a lame duck. I just don't see him having much power to prevent the AD from doing his job. Fan attendance at home games has been noticeably down. When the team has their yearly losing streak, it'll get worse. Fewer fans in the seats means less money, which is what they care about in the end.. 3-1 so far and probably 4-1 after the next game but the conference schedule to this point has been weak. This team isn't well coached so it'll go off the tracks when the competition gets better. A win at a neutral site against Penn State doesn't change that.

One of you Negative Nancy's please explain how a lane duck trustee is going to get Dolson fired if Dolson fires Woodson. For Domain to do that he'd likely have at least Whiten on his side. I just don't see it happening so I need details from one of you how Buckner will pull that off. You're giving him waaaay too much credit. Hell, if it really got ugly Dolson could just back off until the summer and then fire Woodson as a f-you to Buckner on July 1. There's nothing Buckner could do to stop that and everyone knows it. It could also "leak" that the university wants to fire Woodson but Buckner is blocking it and all the dirt that entails. Destroy his legacy. I doubt Woodson has as much booster support after this disappointing season is over.

The swim teams had another dual meet against a top tier team. They split with Florida (both teams ranked 4th), with the men winning. They took on Texas earlier this season. Since dual meet records don't really matter, I wish there was more of this is swimming. I'm glad they're doing it this year. Matt King and Rafael Miroslaw are swimming with the men now. I just read CU bounced him around the line a bit. Right guard, right tackle, and left guard. He got injured and played only 9 games there. It looks like he allowed 2 sacks, 1 QB hit, 3 hurries on 405 snaps. 66.7 PFF grade.

In the offseason, even his supporters said the floor with this team should be a S16 and anything less would be a failure of a season.
