I don't think it'll happen but that was the hypothetical I was replying to.
-
I think the new coach should reach out but I doubt it.
-
Better than we did do. It became obvious pretty quickly that this would be a long season. Barely beating bad non-conference teams and getting blown out by almost every team that was half way decent. Favorable schedule in a down (this was obvious even before the season started) Big Ten. Then only managed finish 10-10. Should have been able to do better than that but the team didn't look like they really cared for most of the season.
-
Unfortunately, that FU was directed the wrong way
-
If you wait that long, you seriously hamstring the incoming coach.
-
I think it's a 3rd option. For some reason they've decided to wait until the season is over, so either after we lose in the BTT or NIT (if we make it). I think at this point, there has to be an official announcement An unnamed source "leaking" that he's back isn't good enough. Thinking it is would be very disrespectful of the fans. We've seen announcements giving a vote of confidence after seasons where the fans aren't calling for the coach to go as loudly as this year.
-
Not this time. This year it's, "Maybe the year after next."
-
Unless there's an official announcement that he's fired or retiring, you're probably best off assuming he'll be back. Less disappointment that way when he is back.
-
Woodson just wasn't serious last year. NGW told us that he's changed and is taking it seriously now. We'll for sure have by far the best transfer class, it'll be so good that it likely fill the B1G 1st team selection next year. Since Woodson is a great coach and with the extra NIL money, how can that not be the case?
-
The AD and BOT are forward thinking. Crean got several years to get things going because he inherited nothing. Since the fans are such a problem, the obvious solution is to replicate that (sans sanctions) for the next coach so he gets time before feeling the heat. How very considerate of them.
-
"Woodson will be back for another year at Indiana, perhaps to the delight of the rest of the Big Ten." The media and non-"true fans" don't understand the genius that is Mike Woodson. He has the rest of the conference and country right where he wants them, underestimating his team. He'll use that to win the BTT then a NC. It's all going according to plan. The losing streaks, close wins against bad teams, and blowouts to any team with a pulse were just red herrings to make people think this team isn't very good.
-
This has probably already been posted but negative media hasn't gone away yet. If IU hoped that the "leak" saying Woodson would be back would stop that, they were wrong. I expect we'll see more of this over the summer and fall. If he doesn't have a great season, it'll really explode. https://www.indystar.com/story/opinion/columnists/2024/03/12/bob-knights-legacy-fails-iu-as-mike-woodson-keeps-coaching/72929876007/

They are pretty outdated and pointless now. Have been for a while.

13 pages would only be like 3 of his posts. He does like to go on and on.
-
Yep, but he also shares his opinion, just as everyone else does. I guess NGW doesn't think he should be allowed to do that. Or maybe he can't tell the difference between the two, which is on him an not Chris.
-
Yeah, what does Knecht know about his recruitment anyways? #nocredibility
-
No, I don't think I've every seen an announcement of a release granted. You only hear about it if they refuse to grant the release.
-

I seriously think that they have someone on staff whose job it is to automatically contacts everyone who enters the portal.
-
I remember when he was in HS there was some article and it seemed to go on and on about other things he liked that weren't related to BB. Not a bad thing to have other interests but I don't recall seeing any similar article about other 5* players. Even before that article, I saw posts on message boards questioning his commitment to an love of basketball.
-
Unless I'm mistaken, you're not a well known (regionally) multimillionaire with powerful friends. Woodson is. I'm sure he could have had it done at a later date if he wanted.

Off topic from the "true fan" and why Knecht and Love didn't commit discussions, sorry. Did that supposed meeting happen today?
-
Probably. I didn't want Booker or if HS and don't want him now. I think some people just look at his ranking and that he's from Indiana.
