Thanks for telling me something I already know. I thought the sarcasm was apparent but I guess not. Even if that were the master plan, it'd be a truly idiotic plan.

Putting my response to this here rather than the coaching carousel thread so @Stuhoo doesn't yell at me. Maybe keeping Woodson another year is part of Dolson's master plan to make sure the next coach is given some time. He saw how Crean was shown patience the first 3 years after inheriting nothing so he plans to do the same thing again without the sanctions. He knows that Woodson will drive the program into the ground and there won't be any talent left for the next coach. (Edit: The above is sarcasm. It would be an idiotic plan but I'm well aware that there is no plan as I say right after this.) I don't really believe that is Dolson's plan but I do think it has a good chance of working out that way.

Anyone Still Want to ‘Fire Scott Dolson’?

Yeah, I won't be watching next year. If they don't care about the basketball team, why should the fans? -

At this point, it looks like Dolson doesn't give s**t about the fans. Can't even be bothered to release an official statement in support of Woodson. He must just figure the fans will be there regardless. Opposing coaches will use this lack of support against him in recruiting, even in the portal. -

Are they not the same guy? -
"Happy birthday. Our gift to you is unlimited time to work on your golf game and have as many wine and cigarette parties as you want."

Fire Dolson, too.

My thoughts exactly. It's P5 but they don't make things easy for the basketball coach while still expecting results. -
IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving

IU finishes in 7th place. Ching Hwee Gan (3rd) and Mariah Denigan (7th) scored in the mile. Peplowski (7th) and Peagle (11th) scored in the 100 free. The 400 free relay got 8th place. https://swimswam.com/2024-ncaa-womens-championships-day-4-finals-live-recap/ -
Good, that's a bullet I don't even need to worry about IU dodging.

He still did even though it wasn't allowed.

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving

Last day of the championship meet. IU has 2 swimmers poised to score points in the 100 free. Peplowski is in the A-final and Peagle is in the B-final. Ching Hwee Gan will probably score points in the 1650, she's the 3 seed. IU is also the 9 seed in the 400 free relay. Diving prelims are happening now but they should have at least 1 diver scoring points. Skyler Liu is the 12 seed entering prelims. -
I guess fans are part of the problem. We're enablers.

I think they were ranked 8th or 9th in the power ranking entering the meet. They (swimswam) usually base those on how they think teams will place at the meet. Link to the day's recap: https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-division-i-ncaa-championships-day-3-finals-live-recap/ -
Auburn looks kind of rattled. Turnovers, bad fouls, giving up rebounds, etc.

https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-division-1-ncaa-championships-day-3-prelims-live-recap/ IU has 2 swimmers in A finals today. Anna Peplowski is the top seed in the 200 free and Kacey McKenna is the 2 seed in the 100 back. -
Oh, yeah, they play UConn next. I had forgotten that when I wrote that but, yes, absolutely hire Hurley!
-
I guess May is another coach who can't beat Northwestern. Don't hire him, hire whoever knocks them out of the tournament.
-
I could just see that when Woodson is gone that the administration's idea of a homerun hire would be Bennett. That way they could still stick it to the fans while saying, "We're trying." Yes, he's had some success but no so much recently and his style is painful to watch. From 9:20 in the 1st until 16:37 in the 2nd they didn't score. That's just brutal. I feel bad for their fans being subjected to that.

The NC State tear continues. The play Oakland next game so have a good chance to make it to the S16. Incredible.
-
So if Cal gets canned, maybe Fland will decommit. If that happens maybe Woodson can land him. With the possibility of playing with Fland, McNeeley recommits to IU. I can dream

More if you count the play-in game. Keep Calipari, Fire Woodson!

Watching Kentucky lose never gets old.

After day 2, IU is in 8th place with 87 points. https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-division-i-ncaa-championships-day-2-finals-live-recap/ Peplowski finished 3rd in the 500 free with a great swim that was her PR and a school record. The 200 free relay finished 8th. -

The women are tied for 7th after day 1 at the NCAA championship meet, mostly due to 5th in the 800 free relay. The relay had some great swims by the Hoosiers. https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-division-i-ncaa-championships-day-1-finals-live-recap/ For day 2, they have 3 swimmers who will be swimming in the evening. Anna Peplowski will be the 2nd seed in the 500 free A final. Kristina Peagle and Ashley Turak will be swimming in the 50 free B final. https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-division-1-ncaa-championships-day-2-prelims-live-recap/
