I get what you're saying but do you actually think that Woodson will change? -

Fingers crossed for Pitino. I would love that. -
Those two might be the same person. Think about it, have we ever seen NGW and Buckner in the same room at the same time?

Power rankings before the meet have the men at #4. Starts tomorrow. https://swimswam.com/2023-24-ncaa-mens-power-rankings-final-edition/ -
Don't forget Cupps. As of right now, we're returning 2 starting guards and Leal. That much talent will scare everyone away. That's why we won't land anyone, certainly not because of the archaic offense and a lame duck coach. So screwed.

So that is the number you're actually hearing? I think that is what Old fart was trying to get to. If it was a number you were hearing or a number that you made up. But that sounds like it is the number you're hearing. Crazy. They don't even just need to overpay players to come here, they need to overpay the current players to stay just to save face.

I like that hire for them. They'll continue to suck and would make IU look less dysfunctional in comparison. -
Rating of coaches is a pretty subjective matter so that would obviously be opinion. We're talking about about money amounts which are objective. Also, Sampson is way more than 3 times better than Woodson so you would probably have to justify why you had that number so low.

Mike Woodson is doing his job. He shouldn't have to answer questions about the women's team, and won't do it.
-
So it's basically going how many of us thought it would.

To me it doesn't look like what Old fart said was an attack. I think where he is coming from is "3 times" is a very specific number, while "big raise" isn't. A specific number seems like a hard fact, even if it isn't. A big raise could be 50% or double which are both less than tripling the pay. Since you do hear stuff, people take stuff that seems like fact as fact. Hell, they take stuff that is obviously opinion as fact so definitely take something that seems like a fact as a fact, even if it's you being hyperbolic. So the fact of a big raise can quickly turn to them earning 3 times what they did, even if the big raise wasn't that much.

(C) Kel 'el Ware - COMMITTED TO INDIANA

Seriously, though, I'm glad he came to IU for the year. As bad as this season was, it would've been way worse without him. He came in and proved a lot of people wrong about him. He also seems like a really great kid. Good luck to him, wish him well. -
Oh, great. Our football coach is just relaxing and taking time off to go to games during spring practices instead of being in the office. Unlike our hard working basketball coach who is so dedicated to winning that he couldn't show up because he's probably watching film on portal players or recruiting (definitely NOT vacationing for his birthday). Looks like the football team will be bad again because the coach doesn't want to work.

The men could get a big boost from the divers, who have done well at the zones. This projects IU to finish 4th. https://swimswam.com/ncaa-mens-diving-preview-how-zone-scores-project-to-impact-the-team-race/ -
I've heard plenty of McGinnis. HIs name is brought often when discussing IU greats. I cant help it that Woodson's name doesn't come up, I just know that it doesn't. Not by the people I talked to growing up nor on IU message boards, which I've been on for nearly 30 years. Don't know what else to tell you. /shrug

I'm the one you're referring to an I wasn't watching IU basketball as a baby. Sorry. I vaguely remember the '87 team and didn't really get into IU basketball until the early 90's, over 10 years after Woodson was gone. Plus, he doesn't get brought up in IU all time lists that happen over and over on IU fan discussion boards, even by those who would have watched him play. I've seen plenty of names of players from the 50s an 60s but not him. But enlighten me, what was the best IU game you watched as a 1 or 2 year old?
-
Same. I was alive during part of Woodson's playing days but too young to remember (born in '77). I had never even heard of Woodson until a few years ago, before the Miller hire, when he was mentioned as a possible coaching candidate. He may have been a good player, but he wasn't good enough that he would get mentioned in all-time IU greats list discussions on message boards. I've been on IU message boards for almost 30 years now so I've seen plenty of those discussions and his name simply doesn't come up.

Good background but his record has been terrible and he hasn't been anywhere long enough to really get an idea of what he'd be like long term. I just don't get it.
-
Who are possibilities for Coach TBD? With May going to Michigan, Schertz probably starting a new job, and Pearl getting older and more unlikely, it's time to identify our flavor of the month to yearn for when Woodson is finally gone. I find Amir Abdur-Rahim intriguing. Bryce Drew failed spectacularly at Vanderbilt but has done well at Grand Canyon. Has he learned and improved or is he like Alford and just good at mid-majors?

Season is over so vacation time. Amiright?

Baylor is toast.

I want Woodson gone because I don't think he can be successful as a college coach. If he proves that wrong by making the S16, I'd be fine with keeping him for a while longer. I doubt he makes the tournament next year but right now we don't even know who will be on the team. Maybe he'll get the overwhelming amount of experienced talent he needs to succeed.

Ugh, people can't even bother to read the whole thing. I should've been obvious sarcasm as it would be an idiotic plan then I say:
