It's funny how possibly hiring Brownell makes getting Collins seem like a good hire in comparison. Maybe that's why Brownell's name is being thrown around, it makes most other hires look good.

I'll give any coach a chance even if I'm not thrilled about the hire with one exception. If Facial Hair is hired I'll no longer be a fan. There are a few names that is think would make it clear that IU is fine with being mediocre, though.

He tried recruiting higher level talent. It didn't work out well for him because they didn't fit his system very well. So he started recruiting to his system and really started doing well.

I like most of the shot selection in the USI and Bradley games (in that order) with only a few shots that I'd consider bad. Not so much the Belmont game which had lots of long 2s. Unsurprisingly, it was also the worst shooting percentage of the 3.

Since it's BGleas saying this: (No, I don't actually think we have a chance.)

What are Brad Stevens' thoughts on Ben McCollum?

Anyone have a shot diagram from a Drake game?

Twists, turns, and smokescreens galore. Feints here and there.

I thought you were a ghost? I feel lied to and betrayed.

Yes, I'm not the only one that sees McGollum!

Curve ball: It's Brad Frederick

I have a feeling IU will end up with a more offensive minded coach. Danny Hurley himself has said that he looks at offense first when recruiting since offense wins championships. It's easier to teach defense than shooting. It would also be a change in direction after the last 8 years under the previous 2 coaches.

McNeeley is headed to Indiana since Woodson is gone, right? Right!?
-
It could even be almost $11M. If he gets to the NCCAT within the first 3 years, there is an automatic 1 year extension. Since he'll get there this year, it will trigger that clause. That means he'll have 5 years left on the contract instead of 4 and the buyout is 95% of remaining contract. $2.3M x 5 x 0.95 = $10.9M If that year doesn't count toward the buyout, it's still $8.7M like you said. That said, it is expensive to hire a good P5 coach so IU should be prepared for that if it's what they want to do.

I predict..nay! I guarantee that IU will hire a coach. I further guarantee that coach will not be named Mike Woodson. Take it to the bank.

Not really. It is safe to assume that no one outside of a small group know how the search is going and that group is being quiet.

You mean the time he beat and bit a woman so bad that the cops were called and he was arrested on a felony domestic assault charge wasn't the first time!? Shocking. I've been saying all along that there was no way this was the first time. It just doesn't start at that level, it escalates.

I don't disagree with either of you. Just sharing what he's saying.

I'm just passing on what he's saying. Earlier he said, "IU/search firm is vetting Beard. It may go nowhere. It may go nowhere, but the chances are no longer zero. It maybe just 1%. But it's no longer zero." Now he says that it already happened and that it was Thursday. In response to someone asking about the Coaching Search tweet that was shared, he said, "They are way behind. IU looking into Beard was Thursday. Looked into, moved on." Feel free to take it up with him.
-
He's the king of bad takes.
-
Rabby is now giving dates. Says Beard was vetted and IU was looking into him Thursday. He says IU has moved on from him.
-
He's added that there are still steep hills for Beard to climb from what he's heard. He thinks that IU will move on from Beard as a result of the vetting.
-
That's sad.

/shrug Ask Rabby. I'm just passing on what he's saying.
