The twitter speculation/rumor is that it's gambling related. UW says they won't comment further based on privacy laws. Temple says they won't comment because he is no longer there. I'm of the opinion that a QB shouldn't catch a tipped/batted pass even if he has the opportunity to. Rarely does anything good happen afterwards and very often it's something bad like that. Bad teams find ways to lose.

Seeing how they've gone about recruiting so far, I have a hard time believing that they thought they were too far behind on a 2027 recruit to catch up. More likely they saw something that made them think he wouldn't be a great fit for the program they're building.

It looks like IU is also committed to keeping him well compensated as long as he does well. If he makes the CFP Semi-finals, they'll make sure he's the 3rd (or better) highest paid coach.
