Michael Penix is Very Good At Washington

He has a ton of talent/skill but he's made of glass so the probability of this happening is pretty low. I think he'll get injured around game 6. -

Leave it to the old timer to recognize the reality of IU football. -
Suspensions aren't part of the legal process so if they coach wanted to suspend him for something that happened but the charge was dropped due to his plea deal (as it was in this case), that would be perfectly within the coach's right. The coach could even suspend for something that happened in which there are no charges brought at all. That said, I don't personally think an off-season screw up of what basically boils down to speeding is worth a suspension 7 months later. But if Coach decides to suspend him, I would understand that, too.

Do they have a good option 2 for the second half of the season? -
What's screwed up is that when the body cam shows that the officer is correct, the situation is handled quickly. I used to work in R&D working on the cameras at a company that was either the first or one of the first to make body cams for cops and even now equips a large number of them. Within days of starting a pilot program with a police department there was an officer involved shooting. Because of the body cam video, the officer of was cleared and back on the street in 3 days. Yet your son and your family had to deal with this for months when that should not have been necessary.

New commitment for the upcoming season. https://swimswam.com/2022-french-elite-champs-runner-up-kai-van-westering-to-join-indiana-in-fall/ -
I'm not talking about production, I'm talking about skill and ability. He won't get the minutes of TJD as a freshman but as far as playing ability goes, he'll be good enough to get good minutes including taking some from both Thompson and Geronimo along with taking all of Durr's vacant minutes. He's too good to be a bench warmer. He won't start but he'll play plenty.
-
I think Reneau will be as good as TJD was as a freshman. If so, he'll take some minutes from Thompson. That wouldn't be a bad thing considering how tired Thompson looked at the end of last season. He would also be much better than Geronimo unless Geronimo makes a huge offseason improvement. In other words, he can have a big season on a successful team because he's a good player.

I know this was an NIL event and not an official university event like the one in October, but does anyone know if there were any recruits in attendance? If so, I imagine it would be some of the ones who live close.

(2023) CG DeShawn Harris-Smith to Maryland
go iu bb replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
https://247sports.com/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Deshawn-Harris-Smith-Penn-State-Maryland-Villanova-Indiana-Xavier-191822596/ New quotes seem to reaffirm that it's Maryland. He talks as though he's already a part of that team. I still think Xavier is his second choice. -
How was the scrimmage? Anything stand out as far as the freshman or improvement of returning players?
-
Yes, they added him after it was posted above. He wasn't on there yesterday.

I 100% agree. -
Not Bellamy?
-
My point is that Knight did that on Branch McCracken Court. Knight and Branch McCracken Court go hand in hand. The legacies are tired together. I'm not sure if it was officially named Branch McCracken Court from day 1 but, if not, it was soon after. I also don't think Knight himself would want to take that honor away from McCracken. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
-
It was Branch McCracken Court before Knight won a single championship. McCracken won 40% of IU's championships. It's not as though IU was nothing and had no history before Knight. Just because McCracken was long ago doesn't mean he should be forgotten.
-
Because it's already Branch McCracken Court.
-
They're about to change the rules again to allow for unlimited immediate eligibility transfers instead of just one so that isn't surprising.

I don't remember him but good job. First generation college grad and didn't stop at the bachelor's degree. Nice

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
go iu bb replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yep. "Get old, stay old" only works if players improve with experience. That just didn't happen under Miller. The only player I can recall who made a big jump year over year was Franklin and from reading articles about that it sounds like it had nothing to do with Miller. Crean did have many players improve significantly under him. Of course, one of his big problems was constantly looking for the diamond in the rough that he could turn into a star. He had some great successes with this but way more wasted scholarships. Between the two, I'd take Crean over Miller every day of the week. At least his teams weren't painfully boring to watch and they played with effort. -
Probably. After IU, his best 2 offers are MSU and Tennessee.

I hope Frozone has a long and successful basketball career.
