  1. Is this referring to India and Armaan? If so, what did she say?

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Why? It's a $60k raise (the $25k retention bonus is annual) which is pretty good. That's a 17.6% raise to go to his alma mater to coach.

Exactly right. I've read that the proposed rule to permanently allow a 1 time transfer with immediate eligibility will probably come with deadlines that must be met to receive the waiver. But that has not been passed yet and I don't recall them having deadlines for this special case transfer this year.

I saw either here or anther board that he was making $350k at MSU. Edit: $340k as of 2018. https://www.mlive.com/spartans/2018/11/in_eighth_year_together_michig.html

That's why he was my #2 choice for the IU job after Stevens.

That's not surprising considering that from the TDH article it appears Miller had no part of Franklin's considerable improvement during the season. Plus the terrible offense and lack of wins. I think at least 1/2 the was gone if Miller had been retained.

I doubt Roberts would go for that as it'd be a demotion and he could get an assistant position elsewhere. I don't get the May talk at all. Why would he leave the DOBO position at UNC (his alma mater) to go to the same position at IU? I just don't get it and will only believe it is even truly a possibility if it happens.

Oh, you're right. I forgot to count Duncomb. Thanks for the correction.

Stewart used one of those 2 open scholarships from last season. So there was 1 left unused. Durham gone and Brunk's doesn't count (assuming he stays). 3 open scholarships.

No, currently 2 open scholarships. Durham's and 1 that Miller didn't use. Edit: 3 scholarships open not counting Franklin and Thompson. I forgot about Brunk's not counting.

There are currently 2 scholarships open not counting Franklin's. I don't think he's worried about someone else taking his scholarship yet.

I agree with you on this. I hope Woodson brings in an NBA guy for that role rather than a guy who specializes in football players but dabbles in other sports' athletes. I think the lifting program is why IU had 3 back injuries and lower abdominal injury in the 4 years under Miller.
  14. He can bring his big city driving experience to little city Bloomington. He even mentioned his driving in the press conference saying he likes to swerve around cars.

This article talks some about the NIL and ways players might cash in. I doubt Suggs stays another year, especially if they win it all, so he will be able to make money on this tournament run and that shot very soon as he won't have to worry about eligibility. https://sports.yahoo.com/how-much-was-jalen-suggs-final-four-shot-worth-millions-experts-say-030125919.html

Can you imagine Brooks' shooting numbers if he had come to IU and played for Miller? His per 40 numbers look decent so I've had my mind changed a bit. Before I absolutely didn't want him. I still don't want him but wouldn't be upset if he ended up at IU. 15 shots to score 17 points isn't exactly efficient, however. Those numbers are really hurt by his terrible 3point shooting. Regardless of what happens with Brooks, I really hope Woodson and company do a much better job on working with the players to improve their shooting than Miller did. I'm sure they will. It's moot right now, though. He's not even in the portal.

I wasn't very excited about Fitzner when it was announced that he would transfer to IU. He didn't put up big numbers against weak competition so I didn't think he'd do well at IU. Then he had that game against Marquette and I thought I was wrong. In the end it turned out that my initial reaction was correct. I think it was a combination of the stronger competition combined with coaching. Stewart has had a year in the ACC and put up decent numbers as only a freshman and won't have Miller as coach. I think he'll turn out pretty well and really help the team this season.

Based on what? His high school ranking? His actual stats at the D1 level don't fit that billing.

The whole thing was painful to watch. I'm glad it's over.
  22. I love that they're not only making these changes to lead the way in terms of NIL but also that they're marketing it. I know I'm probably in the minority on this but I also hope they put the players names on the uniforms. I hope Woodson and his staff really embrace the NIL and use it in recruiting. When NIL gets implemented I'll make a twitter account just to give IU's athletes another follower. I hope other IU fans currently not on twitter do the same.

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Sure, if he can coach. There's nothing to show that he can. He's been back at his alma mater in non-coaching roles. He's also being talked about as if he was part of the IU tree and mentioned along side actual IU alumni like Lewis and Fife. His dad played for IU and he grew up in Bloomington. There's nothing to indicate he has any strong feelings for IU. He certainly has no assistant coaching experience. If he wasn't Scott May's son he wouldn't be talked about here at all. Is the idea to pull him away from his alma mater to be DOBO at IU? Or is it to learn how to be an assistant coach at the same time the head coach is learning to do that at the college level? I want assistant coaches with experience and don't see any reason he'd leave to go to the same position at IU.
