He has eligibility left so it's not 100% until he announces. That said, I'd be surprised if he does come back since I think he'll be a 1st round draft pick.

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
go iu bb replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sadly, the type of person who thinks their opinion is important enough to send a letter like that to TJD is probably delusional enough to also think that letter was the kick in the rear TJD needed to step up. So in his mind, he probably think this turn around is because of him. -

I don't think they ever offered him, though. -

This is why a dominant big coupled with good shooters is very dangerous and hard to guard. Which makes it all the more puzzling that the previous coach didn't recruit or develop shooters to put around TJD. -

Yep. They didn't look like a team that just had to make a few adjustments after losing a starter, they instead looked like a team that was completely lost. They looked like they had never played basketball before and had no idea what they were doing. -

Good win but still plenty of room for improvement. If I had seen these numbers before the game I would have expected the score to be reversed. 3-pointers: IU 3-9, UI 8-19 OREB: IU 9, UI 14 TO: IU 17, UI 9 (UI with 11 steals) PF: IU 20, UI 9 -

It was petty and immature when it happened. Reposting it 15 years later as something he's proud of is pathetic on top of petty and immature. -
You dropped #16 Arkansas and #18 Arkansas out of the rankings?

In his favor is that Miles was cut immediately. Of course, the cynic is me says that was easy considering this was a bench player who only played 6.5 mpg in 6 games. Pretty easy decision. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/darius-miles-1.html

This is shocking and quite sad.

But, but, but I've read on message boards that the players don't actually do anything to earn NIL money. How is this possible? Message boards are never wrong since they're in the internet.

That might be the worst looking court I've ever seen.

Neither team can hit the ocean from the beach but at least IU has only 3 TO. -

Except when it is. You never know with B1G officials. They like to keep it exciting, never knowing from one play to the next what is a foul and what isn't. -

That won't happen. Not with this team's D. Instead that unknown player will put up 25. -

Considering Leal saw 2 minutes against PSU to Duncomb's DNPCD, I'd say there are 12 players ahead of him. -

No, the 3-24 over the last 27 is 3 wins vs 24 losses and not the 3 wins out of 24 games that you're probably thinking. So a win would make it 4 wins vs 24 losses. -
To me the difference is that Lewis was (is) tough and very competitive. You could really see him giving it his all when he was playing. I can't say the same about Kopp on any of those aspects so instead of a heated disagreement with a coach, from Kopp it would look like a petulant child yelling at an adult.

IUBB @ Penn State - Wednesday, 1/11/23 @ 7:00 on BTN
go iu bb replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I finally got around to looking at the box score and....yikes. They let 2 (!) players hit 7 3-pointers against them. 2. In the same game. PSU shot better from distance than IU shot from the FT line (both in volume and percentage). PSU made more 3-pointers (18) than IU even attempted (14). Considering IU only hit 4 of those shots, it's probably good that they didn't shoot it more. Defense still not only is allowing opponents to shoot a high percentage, it's also not generating turnovers. Only 1 steal, 7 total PSU turnovers. IU's total turnovers were slightly improved at 11, but they still gave up 6 steals. We get thrashed and Duncomb still sees no PT. No way he's back next year and at this point the parting will likely be mutual. -
I don't think you have to worry about that. By the time RT and/or XJ are back, IU will have played themselves out of the possibility of an at-large bid and we all know how well they do in the B1GT.

No. Like IU athletics, it will just be more of the same except with a different name.
