It's not unusual for players to show flashes of promise but are then never able to consistently play that well. An example is Justin Smith. It seems like he'd improve at the end of each season but would be right back to square one when the next season began.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/march-madness-winners-and-losers-indiana-adds-to-big-tens-misery-xavier-finds-its-groove-at-right-time/ Pretty much says the B1G is a bunch of losers. Hard to argue with that. On a positive note, still considers IU to be a blueblood.

*gasp* Blasphemer!
-
Those teams' offenses but better defense.
-
We're in a agreement on this. I just responded to a post of yours in another thread with something similar. Look around at the teams that the B1G is losing to. It's totally possible to build a team that could not only complete within the B1G but also be a legit power nationally (unlike PU this year). Changing style of play would also (hopefully) help with future recruiting.

I'm excited to see how he builds next year's team. TJD will be missed a lot but him moving on will release Woodson from having to build an offense around him. Now is the chance to start building the type of team he said he wanted when he was hired. That type of team would've been better able to compete with teams like Miami, Iowa, and PSU, I think.

Yep, 1 win between the 2 teams. Purdue and Marquette will bring that average down a bit.
-
Yep, he's a really good coach. Just a s****ty person who's a rape enabler. But he sure can coach.
-
Izzo and MSU can eat s**t. I want IU to win even more now just so MSU isn't the only B1G team to make the S16.
-
Marquette looks scared.

Not a big loss for them. I'm guessing he'll move down to a mid-major.

I just saw that the women are playing Miami next as well. Let's get the sweep. -
Any Chance Purdue and Matt Painter Part Ways?
go iu bb replied to Herotime's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Everyone knows that big name coaches are just licking their chops for a shot at landing the Purdue job. The campus just sells itself and all the available NIL money not to mention all the talent Painter has stockpiled on that roster. Who wouldn't want the job? -
The annual B1G crash and burn in the tournament. They satisficed just getting 8-9 teams in.
-
Houston pulling away with Sasser and Shead both banged up and in foul trouble. Guess that's why they're a 1 seed.

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving

Women finish 7th. They had a strong final day with 4 individuals and a relay finish in the top 8. https://swimswam.com/2023-ncaa-division-i-womens-championships-day-4-finals-live-recap/ -
Shead with his 4th at ~8:20 left. Auburn already in the double bonus.
-
Sasser picks up his 4th foul with just under 11 minutes remaining and Houston down 2.
-
Here comes Houston. The refs are tying to homer them. Didn't call an obvious goal tend.
-
Penn State is having a hard time rebounding against Texas. They look much smaller, slower, and less athletic. It's going to be a long night for them.
-
Kansas was without their HOF coach. Houston (if they lose) are pretty banged up. Purdue? No excuses like those teams have. They straight up got beat by a bad team.
-
It certainly helps them that this is basically a home game for them.
-
Hot in a very bad ACC and still ended up as only a 5 seed. To be picked to reach the FF by 61% wouldn't have happened if it wasn't Duke. If a team like Wake Forest had the same season, would that many of ESPN's experts have chosen them for the FF? Doubtful.
-
No bias here. It's totally normal for 5 seeds to be picked to make the FF by 61% of "experts." Totally normal.
