  1. IU has offered 6'8", 205 lb C Davion Adkins of Dallas. Has a 7'2" wingspan. Will probably play PF at the college level. 247 has him with a 95 rating which is a 4*, 23rd overall and the #1 center in the class. The 247 composite has ranked similarly at 25th and the #1 center. Some other schools on his list are ASU, Cal, Houston, Kansas, KSU, LSU, Oregon, Rutger, Texas, and Texas Tech. 247 Back in April, Trevor Andershock described him as an impressive shot blocker who is quick off his feet with good timing. He said Adkins is offensively "raw with his back to the basket but has ball skills." From his 247 page linked above: Scouting Report Evaluated 12/23/2024 Adam FinkelsteinDirector of Scouting Adkins is one of the most naturally talented frontcourt prospects in the class of 2026 and while his tools have been glaring for some time now, he's just starting to turn potential into production at a more consistent rate. A long and athletic southpaw, Adkins is every bit of his listed 6-foot-8 with a massive 7-foot-2 wingspan, and huge hands. He's a bouncy vertical athlete and major lob threat who can rise-up for emphatic finishes. He also has soft natural touch and clear long-term shooting potential that should eventually allow him to stretch the floor both vertically and to the arc. Adkins is much more of a play finisher than he is a playmaker at this point. He's just starting to develop some footwork around the paint, but needs to continue getting stronger, raise his release point in the lane, improve his right hand, and ability to put the ball on the floor when facing up. Defensively, he can be an impactful rebounder and rim protector when he's fully locked in, but possesses plenty of other untapped potential on that end as well.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

So if next year isn't "top level" then it's a failure? Nothing in between? Are you saying that if IU isn't a very legit NC contender in year 1 we should probably move on because it won't be easy to rebound from that? You've got to be kidding or should maybe define "top level" better.

It looks like Georgetown might be the school to beat for him, but it also sounds like IU is up there. See quote below. He's starting to get a lot of recruiting interest from schools so he says he's not in a hurry to make a decision but it also sounds like he wants to narrow his list down soon(ish). Quote mentioned above which makes me think GT is the team to beat for him: "I talked to Georgetown yesterday, and I love Coach Cooley and the staff. One thing I really like is that it feels like home. I can work out anytime with my uncle, and my mom can come to any game she wants. It's a perfect fit, and they want me to come in as their starting point guard. Indiana is catching up, but Georgetown feels like a perfect fit." He did say that he hears from the whole IU coaching staff, including CDD. I'm liking the team effort this staff is putting in. Building relationships with the whole staff will only help with recruiting and might also help retain players if any one member of the staff leaves.

Rabby is saying that he expects that IU will be hiring Justin Bailey from Sam Houston and that he won't have an assistant coach title.

I saw that he was a guard for a long time then had a growth spurt so he has a lot of guard skills. One of the other guys we're recruiting had a similar development. Anthony Thompson, maybe? I don't remember.

He's planning to visit all 4 of his finalists in June then decide on June 25th. The order will be St. Joseph's, IU (13-14), Texas, then VCU. If it happens on the planned date, it will be the day after the VCU visit ends.

Rabby says another player to keep an eye on is Najai Hines, a 6'10", 250lb center from NJ. https://247sports.com/player/najai-hines-46146558/ He also says that his sources have indicated that the only recruit that's been offered who seems to be a long shot is Toni Bryant. IU seems to have a legit chance at the others. Mods: can we pin this as well as the 2027 and 2028 threads and unpin the old recruiting threads?

I like IU's chances among those schools. I think it's realistically between IU and Texas. Miller was recruiting him while at Xavier and Texas gets the last visit so they might have an advantage.

lol @ that website for giving any credence to On3's projections.
  11. It doesn't appear that IU has offered him yet but it's looking like it's just a matter of time. They've watched him multiple times and he was offered by DeVries while at WVU. 7'1" 260lb Center from Guinea who plays HS ball in Iowa. Recently jumped in the 247 rankings from 95 to 22 and is their #1 Center. 247
  12. 6' 10", 190 lb Center from Pike HS in Indy. https://247sports.com/player/isaiah-hill-46151693/ This is one the new staff is starting to look at. Drew Adams is going to see him tonight.

Sam Alexis to Indiana from Florida

So he's doing that instead of practicing. Great, this is the kind of player we're recruiting now, the kind that takes a couple of days off to visit the White House after winning a National Championship. SMH Seriously though, that's pretty cool. I hope he and his teammates thoroughly enjoy the experience.

The court should make a compromise and allow him to be eligible for 9 games. Seems fair to me.
  15. The staff has offered 6'5" SF Malachi Jordan from Tennessee. Plays for MoKan Elite AAU team. Rod Clark has a prior relationship, recruited him for UT. 247 Trevor Andershock describes him as a big time athlete who is more of a traditional wing who can slash and hit from the outside as well as rebound well.

    (2027) - SF Malachi Jordan

I don't have stats to back this up and IU doesn't typically land guys like this but it seems like the guys who move around a lot in HS continue to do so in college. So I agree with it being a red flag.
  17. IU has offered 6'8" PF Trey Thompson from Tennessee. Purdue has been on him for a while and may be the team to beat but he seems open to other schools and is still planning on visiting other places. Says he wants to visit IU. 247 Here's a nice highlight:

I see Georgetown on his list so I'm guessing Johnson has a prior relationship.
  19. IU has offered 6'7" SF Bruce Branch from Gilbert, AZ. AAU teammate of Cameron Williams. 247

Rabby says a name to know is 6'10" PF Cameron Williams from Phoenix, AZ. Currently ranked 30th by 247 but might make a jump. Thin (only 190 lb) but long and graceful. Good rebounder and shot blocker. Has range on offense. https://247sports.com/player/cameron-williams-46142153/

    (2026) - PF Trey Thompson

Rabjohns was asked the same question. His response was that at the same stage they are similar rebounders. Thompson is the better 3-point shooter and better off the bounce. Sisley was more rugged and physical.

    (2026) - PF Trey Thompson

This might be a short recruitment. https://www.on3.com/teams/indiana-hoosiers/news/indiana-offers-2026-forward-trey-thompson-following-standout-weekend-on-adidas-3ssb-circuit/ Though Thompson had originally planned to make a decision in July or August, he told KSR+ that his timeline may be accelerating. “I think I’m going to speed it up a little bit and commit in May or June,” he said. “I’m not entirely sure yet. I really don’t know.” He has been recruited by Rod Clark for a year and a half so IU may have a chance. He does say that loyalty is important to him. Purdue has been recruiting him hard for a while though. He's planning on visiting Louisville and Tennessee in the next few weeks and wants to visit IU so it looks unlikely a decision will come before June.
