Yeah both Rice and Gallo are due for a return-to-form game. Hope it's against Neb., we're going to need them. -

We’ve only shot 9 3’s but comically, Minny’s only taken 7, lol - a Mike Woodson fantasy game -

Confident we’ll win. Also confident Woodson’s “game planning” will make it more difficult than it should br and the game thread will be … testy. Hope to see Bako back in form and the team playing a lot more engaged overall -

Moren is top flight. Development of frosh can improve but X’s and O’s, strategy, ability to inspire the team / get that buy in needed, in game activity and adjustments and general recruiting for consistency in competing within the conference and tourneys - all there -

41% from 3, still only 12 shots. Oh well, Woodson’s an idiot. -
Yeah, max speed 15 mph. It’s a Porsche. That has to be some kind of karma, lol Had just pulled off 610 (inner loop) onto an exit. The glass half full in me says at least it didn’t happen on 610.

Have been having a horrible night. My car, only 6k miles on it, went into limp mode for a “engine control fault” just off an exit downtown Houston. My roadside service experience was the worst ever. Took hours, were supposed to order a lyft for me and they couldn’t even do that right. Finally get home, exhausted, thinking what a crappy night. Then I see the Boilers lost to PSU by double digits. Thank you PU, for making my night better. You always manage to come through with an egg, and make me smile. :)

Fire Coach Woodson Thread

The NCAA is definitely weakened but there are still rules -- regardless though that's not the point. It's what the U will do based on what it went through (partly it's own doing with Sampson) and all of the fallout. -

Do you really “need” me to recite all the Pearl history and Beard’s escape from prosecution? I’m sure you can educate yourself. Not going to argue with you, IU ain’t hiring these guys, who aren’t realistically on the table anyway. Wasted air -

Why do people honestly pine and fixate on coaches IU would absolutely not hire?? IU aint hiring Pearl or Beard even if there were actually a chance they’d take the job. No way. After Sampsongate the admin will continue to bend over backwards to avoid any appearance of impropriety and risk and now after failed coach picks that’s only more true. Doesn’t matter if people don’t like it, it’s just where the U is. Give me one of the up and comers with history of strong basketball acumen and development. There’s some dice rolling there but the U will take that over risk of another Sampson-like fiasco -
I'm sold

Was looking for positives in the game, particularly whether/to what extent we utilized outside shooting. 3-point shooting/offensive scheme: Early into the game and leading into end of the first half we were shooting a high percentage (on volume) of 3-pointers, it was close to 50% of our shots, and especially bc of Goode we were hitting at a really high percentage. That volume dropped, we ended up shooting 15 of 55 total shots, from the arc (at 47% shooting), so about 28% on volume. That's not too shabby but especially considering how well we were shooting the 3 (thanks, Goode) we should have continued to shoot a higher volume of 3's, and absolutely need to going forward. If Goode has now found his stroke, we should be running plays / actions to get him looks - he should get decent minutes and looks. Bako will be hitting regularly, and guys like Rice and Gallo will hit on and off. An extremely basic concept for Woodson: You can't win consistently playing a 2-point game against a 3-point game, as in the game most NCAA teams and clearly B1G teams, run. Downplaying outside shooting, or not making it a key part of your offense, is simple ignorance. If we emphasize the 3 more we will win more games. If we don't, we will lose more games. This isn't rocket science. Jakai / dark horse stuff: In limited minutes (just 4), Newton looked good. Athletic, our only possible above-the-rim player. If he gets and stays healthy, he can add another level to this team. Tucker was productive from the floor, got to the line, and pulled in 3 assists (zero TO's). 8 points in 28 minutes wasn't significant in this game, and his D needs work, but he's a guy whose game looks like it will continue to grow into the year, and a guy with next-level ability. He really needs to develop an outside shot, and Woodson probably isn't doing jack to get him there, hope he's working on it, his mid-range game is already sweet. -

That’s why I asked it be a trend. I’m the guy that rails on our low 3-point shot numbers after every game….
