(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA

I'm thinking Trayce has a real shot at staying on the post-season All-A team. If he adds that mid-to-outside shot to his arsenal, under Woodson's encouragement instead of limitations, and shows it with some consistency, he'll be in the NBA next year. He may be anyway, but adding shooting could well move him up into the first round, can run small ball 5 but needs to show the shooting. I'm not much for mock drafts especially at this point, but this one, an aggregate, has him at 48. https://hoopshype.com/lists/2022-nba-mock-draft-chet-holmgren-jalen-duren-paolo-banchero/

(2018) PF Race Thompson to IU

IIRC he shot close to 40 percent his senior year of hs - i might be remembering a bit high but he was much better than a 30 percent shooter on more shots - agree his stroke is fine, with more shots i think he can shoot better than we’re expecting
  9. Maybe it’s just the world righting itself — our basketball program is on the way back, we thought maybe we were a football school….

(2018) PF Race Thompson to IU

It is a good story, with good insight into Race and Woody’s player development approach to coaching— something we’ve been missing for a while

    Practice differences under Woody

From practices/scrimmages, are you seeing: - More of the he-who-rebounds-brings-the-ball-up thing? How are fast-breaks tending to be initiated? - point guard / primary on-ball play, what kind of role (increased?) are you seeing Lander in, how is the pg/on-ball play being distributed (ok, pun intended), anything new since the exhibitions?

    Major announcement?

It will be good news. Players don’t broadcast bad news

    Practice differences under Woody

Yeah, I'm a fan of his D and with Fife's schooling (my favorite all-time defensive player for IU), I would bet on his locking people down into the floor

    Al Durham 2021?

I think you’re right here. We’ll see but Miller’s offense was just plain bad, and he deliberately limited the outside shot/3-ball. Al can shoot, I’d bet on him looking better in an actual offense

We get back as a program and HH is hopping again. I’m optimistic on the state of the program, i think we’re now moving ahead again and will get there soon

Guess it depends who you talk to. I’ve talked to recruits who love it. I think we lose sight of that these kids are just ballers, they live to ball. It can’t just be a practice, it has to have the big production too, but they don’t care about seeing the guys ball? Yeah, they do

Naah they love scrimmages and it’s front row to see them ball - that’s the practice anyway. The dunk and shooting contests are usually fun too.

On the scrimmage, i was thinking more of the recruits and their families. That’s a big part of what they want to experience. It’s too bad but is what it is. Doubt it would cause any of them to think bad of IU, but it won’t leave that good vibe with them that a good scrimmage would.

ITH has some highlights, Bates ran out of time in the 3-pt contest. He’s going to score a lot of points and i’d bank on him starting at at some point. Parker’s shot is smoother than i realized.

How strange, why no scrimmage, i mean, that is always what HH - midnight madness has been about
