  1. As a lifelong WWE fan and Hoosier I gotta say that is pretty cool.

With that list of suitors I would sure hope at least someone could keep Pack out of Stinktown. I think it will depend on how much he really wants to be back in Indiana versus what is really best for his professional stock. Declaring for the draft before entering the portal and specifically wanting to play his natural position speaks pretty loudly to NBA aspirations and potential, and Purdue is about to have their first lottery pick in 28 years. Not exactly a strong NBA pedigree up there. Plus with Brandon Newman and Ethan Morton being the only returning guards to share the backcourt with and one of your primary jobs as PG being to basically toss volleyball sets to Edey, that doesn't sound like the most conducive system for NBA development when you can play off of and beside 5-star athletic freaks at Duke, Tennessee, etc.

Absolutely, credit to Wisconsin for at least having the self awareness to realize how much every non-Wisconsin fan not named Tyra Buss is sick as crap of this guy, and to use it to crack a joke.

I'd like to see that as well and there would certainly be ways to work in a kid that shoots like that. The guard situation in general seems to be a lot more open at Purdue next year though, and with Morton and Newman being their only returning scholarship guards I'm afraid the fit would be more apparent. But as USPS said the competition on this one will expand way beyond just the Toiletmakers, who didn't offer him the first time around.

I fear PUke will be a player in this one, unfortunately. If Hunter doesn't come back then the only PG they will have going into next year would be a true freshman Braden Smith.
  6. Maxpreps shows him as class of 2024 and it doesn't look like he has 247, Rivals, etc. yet. Can anyone confirm if the thread title is correct or is he actually a 2024 kid? I think he just came to Indiana at the beginning of the season so I wondered if potentially there was movement with his classification or something.

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to INDIANA

I believe he was originally a Drexel commit, but it looks like that was his only D1 offer unless he very recently got more.

    IU at Purdue - 03/05/22 @ 2:00 on ESPN

If nothing else I feel the days of getting punked out by Purdue in these games are over. We split two tight games this year against what was possibly their most hyped team since the 90's, and although future roster concerns for IU are warranted I still like what we have in the pipeline more than what Purdue has. And they stand to potentially lose A LOT after this season.

I definitely realized the same thing for myself too. The thought was only a mere temptation after a night with Brad Davison and Johnny Davis being turds in our building.

Oh I was too. I very quickly came back around and expect to be reminded of why today.

I was tempted to start thinking I hated Wisconsin even more than Poodoo after our home loss to them a few weeks ago, but I'm sure today's crowd will make water find its level.

    Prediction League (Game 30 - Purdue 3/5/22)

Don't care the circumstances, I'll never pick that school up there. Galloway comes back, some shots actually fall, and we play with the desperation we need to have. Good Guys - 68 Makers of Toilets - 67

    2024 General Recruiting Thread (BBall)

Yeah I saw him being mentioned on their Rivals board but I didn't have the stomach to read on. I figured it's a safe bet Poodoo was interested since being 6'10" or taller and able to run without falling down seems all that is needed to get on their radar.

    He’s weightlessly athletic, apparently.

Has anyone heard of or seen this kid from Kokomo? Not sure what kind of competition they play but he has put up some big numbers lately. 6'10" and only a sophomore.

Not sure why that late timeout bothered Howard so much and he was out of line for taking it that far, but knowing Wisconsin I wouldn't be surprised if there was other stuff in play too. Chippy games, dirty play, and general d-bagery seems to follow them like a shadow yet they have a way of coming out looking good or getting away with it.

(2023) - C Xavier Booker to Michigan State

Gotcha, I knew there were some motor concerns but I wasn't aware the lack of intangibles ran that deep. I don't disagree with any of your post and didn't intend to compare him to Bryant outside of measurables and athletic upside and how important I think that is in our league. It's tempting for me though based on the size and athleticism Booker brings, the need we will have for that, and the lack of similar prospects in our backyard or that we are in on elsewhere in the next two classes (unless I'm forgetting someone). And perhaps I'm off base in thinking this but the transfer portal gets me about as excited as the weather in Indiana today does. I should also clarify that although Booker is likely the best in-state prospect between both '23 and '24, that is largely because the '23 class is a bit light on top-end talent and so far no names have emerged from '24. Hopefully we can still get in on some other prospects of a commensurate size and skill to provide some other options.

(2023) - C Xavier Booker to Michigan State

I definitely feel the same way. If nothing else he provides high potential upside at what will be a position of need. We haven't had a 6'10"+ kid with this type of athletic skill since TB left in 2017, and you gotta have it in the B1G as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention per Rivals Booker is still the highest rated in-state prospect for '23 and none from '24 are even on the radar at this point (not counting La Lumiere kids not actually from IN).
