    They Fired Tom Allen!

In the unlikely event a move is made any time soon I do believe we could at least get someone that could meet and sustain the minimal expectations of IU football. They are out there. I think there are three categories we could realistically look to: G5 Head Coach w/ Upside Jason Candle - 51-30 record at Toledo and could probably recruit the Indiana/Ohio area decently Jamey Chadwell - Probably not coming but I'd call Sean Lewis - Record at Kent St isn't great but playing Wash, OK, and UGA in non-con will make it that way. Played UGA tough too. Kane Wommack - We all know the story on this one Tyson Helton - Borhm disciple (yuck) but if we want offense he can bring it IU Guy Approach Justin Frye - Best remedy for bad O-line play. Antwaan Randle El - A reach for college HC but you never know. Would be good for WR development, would be more likely to stay if successful, and could probably recruit despite inexperience (especially offense). Deion Sanders didn't have any experience prior to Jackson St either. Former Big Job Coach Working Their Way Back Manny Diaz - Thought he was actually doing ok at Miami and got ran out. Lost three games by a total of 8 pts and to 11-win MSU as well as Bama last year and that got him fired. Doing a pretty nice job as PSU DC. Clay Helton - Won a Pac 12 title and can beat Nebraska w/ a Sun Belt team. That's good enough for me.

    IUFB 2022 Season Thread

I have no idea how they pick our West crossover opponents other than Purdue. We just played Illinois who might be the best team on that side currently and we have to immediately play them again next year, and instead of getting Northwestern who we haven't played since 2019 and only once since 2016 somehow Wisconsin is back up after playing them in 2020. Without getting to play the only team from the other side that's on our level it's hard to see anything other than likely 1-8 in B1G play again. Also, depending on how the rest of the season shakes out it might be interesting to see if we play against Jeff Brohm on Nov 25 or Sept 16.

    2022-23 IUBB AP/Coaches Polls

I remember it too, there was ice that day and I basically felt stuck inside and forced to watch. We started that week ranked #25 and lost by 15 at home to Nebraska on Monday before going up to Purdue to lose by 15 again on Saturday. Their defensive gameplan, crowd, and a couple early calls took Romeo out of that game and he basically never got in it. If I recall correctly his +/- for that game was -16. That day had to be like a second Christmas for Purdue fans. We are finally ranked again.

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens with him if he continues doing well there. It's also worth noting their one loss was to UCLA, who is now #9 in the country, and South Alabama should have won that game.
  5. What a classy guy. I don't care if them being good again is "better for the sport" or not. I hope Nebraska never stops being the Sears of college football.
  6. Tough environment but I believe any path to 6 wins involves us getting this one, and I think we do. Will probably take cracking the 30's but playing the 127th ranked total defense will provide that opportunity. IU - 37 NEB - 28
  7. Still don't think Cincinnati is that good, but unfortunately they're still better than we are at this time. IU - 23 Cincy - 31
  8. Me too, I was hoping he would let his recruitment go out a little longer so we could get a better idea of his ceiling and maybe get involved at that point. Poodoo has done a nice job of getting early commitments from what in-state talent there is for '24. Just hope Bidunga stays clear of there.

    College Bball Thread

Will be interesting to see what Gibbs-Lawhorn does considering he's only got two other verifiable offers at this time, those being UC-Santa Barbara and IU. Not to mention his IU offer was from Archie and I don't think Woody & Co. followed up on it much. There seemed to be a lot of interest from bigger programs but not a lot of actual offers.

Purdue WR Milton Wright ruled academically ineligible for 2022 as Boilermakers lose key playmaker, per report - CBSSports.com Big blow for the Toiletmakers. Wright would have been their best returning WR.

I'm pretty sure he got a Porsche through NIL while being at UK too. I'd say that's a 0% rate of return on that investment.

    (2022) - PG Avery Brown

Good for him, he's definitely someone I'd like to keep tabs on. In fact I think at one point IU had a CB pick for him prior to Archie being let go.
