  1. With each recruiting miss it definitely does make CAM's margin for error go down. Brooks, Carton, Garcia, Ouinones, Longino, Patterson, and Kaufman are all kids that we seemingly finished 2nd or 3rd on. You certainly can't win them all but in my mind just a few of these could be the difference between where the program is and where we expect it to be.

(2021) SG - Blake Wesley to Notre Dame

I think they've backed off as well, but barring any transfers or NBA departures Purdue is now capped on scholarships for the 2021-2022 season. That might unofficially cut them from the list.
  3. That makes more sense. Based on what I heard and saw he can really score. If they are going to plug Kaufman primarily at the 3, it will be interesting to see how they shuffle Ivey / Stefanovich / Morton / Hunter / Thompson / Newman within mostly two guard lineups.
  4. That surprised me too. He was between 40%-43% from 3 his last two years of high school and is a good athlete. He could definitely do some things coming off that redshirt.
  5. Thanks Stuhoo! I like this board a lot, couldn't resist joining any longer.
  6. That’s an interesting point, I remember Dakich talking about that from when he was recruited. He said he liked Keady and Purdue but when it came to basketball IU was simply the place you went. I think Purdue started to develop a bit of a cool factor it may not have previously had around when Glenn Robinson was there, especially among younger kids/teenagers. My feeling is that factor started creeping up again once Painter got traction with his ’07 class and it’s gotten more that way since. IU still carries more brand equity but I’m afraid that gap has closed a lot in the eyes of kids we are now recruiting. Assuming he was born in late 2002 or early 2003, we’ve only beaten Purdue once since Trey was 11 so if we want to take momentum back in the series (and I desperately hope we do), this is a crucial recruit for IU.
