It is a pretty common theme that all the detractors fail to attend any games themselves and are always relying on “ what is said “ or “ other people’s opinions “ .....the Montgomery kid I had never seen before and it took all of the warm up period for me to know he was a stud ...turns out he’ll likely be a pro baseball player. Your friends must not have watched closely cause Montgomery is talented and brown shut him down ...he also handles the ball and passes better than anyone in the state at any class level ....for your friends thinking everything runs through him Luke leads the state in assists at 13...next closer player 8 ...most assists in a season the last ten years was 9.8 for context. 4. You’ve been wrong about him so far and I wasn’t so instead of saying you’re wrong you’re calling me creepy ...I can live with that 5. As of today I posted on Montgomery’s page

I agree with everything you said by far ...only exception is they didn’t put Montgomery on brown they let number 4 and their smaller guard chase him most of the night I assume to keep Montgomery out of risk of quick foul trouble but brown did play Montgomery all but about five minutes of the game and Montgomery had 8 of his points during that stretch

oh boy more of the usual ....Weren’t you the same one that said he wouldn’t get any D1 offers ? My guess is the other guy actually took the time to watch the game and saw that Brown guarded him man to man the entire first half and basically shut him down. Also they never committed two defenders to brown ....you won’t see him shoot 2-11 from 3 very often if ever again and you’ll definitely never see him miss 4 free throws again ....that could have been a 50 point game very easily and again he did his part shutting down a taller skilled offensive player ....you should honestly watch some games you might stop doubting

Lol ! I know I know ....I suppose I deserve that. Before you get too proud of me though....I saw the Montgomery kid and learned of his existence because I made the 3 hour drive to north Daviess to watch Blackford. But I was impressed enough to start researching the kid.

I was really impressed with him in person and I spent most of the morning reading up and now I like him even more ...seems like a great kid and a hard worker. Looks like he could have his pick but his brightest future may be on the baseball diamond. The fact that Louisville had a basketball visit with him is eye opening.

Really? I was completely unaware ...does he have any formal offers or just attention ? Now I really would encourage people if they watch the game to pay attention the the first half defense

I didn’t know the Montgomery kid before last night ....I was impressed with him ...they had another good player also who was crafty inside and played hard ...their coach was awful rough on them given their effort level .......does the Montgomery kid have any college attention ?

He was a stud ...I was shocked they put Luke on him instead of Stoble ...I was even more shocked it worked ! Kid looked frustrated

Ok so here’s the run down ....I was dejected at halftime because Blackford had around 18 points and it was Luke’s worst individual shooting performance and it was even worse than that as a group. The Montgomery kid from south ridge is TOUGH. The only redeeming part of the first half of this game was Luke’s defense ( yes you heard me right and yes that Probably hasnt ever been said before ). The biggest knock on the kid is his size and how that might make him a defensive liability. I’m one of his biggest pushers and I have written a million posts with similar sentiment myself. From the start of the game Blackford played man to man ( they spend most of their time in a 2-3 zone or full or half court trap ). Luke face guardEs the 6’5 Montgomery who is their primary ball handler and I haven’t been able to check the final number but he took a taller and athletic opponent with shooting touch and deep range and essentially shut him down . I was impressed. The only easy buckets Montgomery got the whole Game were during the 3-5 minute stretch they put a second defender on him and he showed why he scored 41 last game. Blackford sped the game up with an aggressive full court trap and Luke forced the issue on offense and scored 24 in the fourth and overtime. You can watch the game on YouTube if you have time but watch the first half defense of Montgomery if you’re critiquing, he impressed me in an area I previously was critical of. Showed he can effect the game when his shot isn’t falling and he also showed that burning it at both ends of the floor he can still take a game over. The real test will be Friday against either barr Reeve or brownstown

Anyone going to north Daviess tonight ? I’m leaving early to catch barr Reeve then Blackford plays right after ....3hr drive for us not sure if anyone is already to the south but it should be 4 solid games starting at 3pm

47 and either 12 or 13 ...apology to Elwood ...first time in the last 2.3 years I’ve been disappointed with Blackford basketball ...4 minutes left in game and four of five starters on the floor including brown with Blackford up 60 ....Blackford fans cheered for the 100th point like they had won a sectional when they made the achievement against an overmatched opponent ...it was embarrassing

21 and 3 in the second ....34 and 9 at half ...yikes

13 and 6 in first ...Elwood looks like Blackford from a few years ago they are having a rough time

Are you in Indiana ? If so What part of the state are you in ?

Food for thought ...it’s obviously too early to speculate but even still ...NO Indiana player from any class has averaged more than 9 assists for a season in the last ten years

34 and 17 were final numbers ....season averages are 30.8 and 13.2
