Thing is I'm pretty sure there was a thread created to talk about the "gray area stuff".

My god.....no recruit is worth emotional distress. If he comes awesome but if not that's ok too. I can guarantee you this much, that next October there will be a schedule that comes out indicating which teams IU will play and it will also show you which guys WILL/WANT to play those teams. That's what matters and it ain't no rumor it's a fact. Until then the best thing for your well being might just be to follow this year's schedule and the guys playing it. Just a little friendly advice for any of you getting upset about recruiting.

When Rojo doesn't score many on here automatically go to the "he's playing terribly". Well outside of a couple of plays in this game his defense was really good. Late when he switched onto Simms he pretty much eliminated him from the game. Sometimes a guy can shoot poorly and not score much yet still really impact a game. I get it though.....we haven't seen good defense in the last decade so recognizing it has become a little more difficult.

Assembly Hall has created some intimidation clouds that loom over visiting teams. Get a Hoosier team making stops and hitting timely buckets along with a few hustle plays and all bets are off. Am I the only person that still has confidence in Rojo? Yeah he's struggling but I believe he will come out of it. Will he be a star/go get ya' one guy? I doubt it because that's never been his game. It's quite possible that everyone is expecting something out of him that he isn't and never was capable of delivering. And I'm not seeing the "don't give a crap" mentality that everyone else is I guess. I just think he's having a hard time adjusting just like everyone else. Maybe I'm crazy I don't know. This is why I don't get emotionally involved in recruiting. There is a much higher chance of disappointment with low chance of high reward. I'm with the few others that choose to put there emotion into the team and the "kids" that want to come here. Is it cool when you get a big fish? Hell yeah but I get just as much from those "kids" being a guy that sits back and waits for them to actually sign as those of you who get caught up in this whirlwind of emotion following their every move. - I appreciate seeing consistency within a system. Not necessarily consistent execution but at least there seems to be a "system" that AM is trying to instill. Nice to see compared to previous 20 years -DD was awesome in some ways and not so awesome in some ways. Needs to get more than 6 rebounds in 29 minutes and for the love of everything make your FT's -Al and Justin showed some real signs of possibly being serious contributors this year and moving forward. Really liked how Smith played "big". We will need that from him consistently this season -I personally thought Rojo played decent tonight and actually showed some leadership qualities. I realize many won't agree but I feel ok about him moving forward. -Juwan getting hurt sucks but he is kind of injury prone at this point. Good news is he's tough as balls so may see him back soon -Newkirk didn't shoot well but I still think he will be big for us this year and caution people wanting to dump him... again......he did have 7 assists and just 1 to -Green and Cujo? No seriously I have no clue what is wrong with these guys or if they'll ever really develop into what we had hoped. Green has a better chance but so far they aren't looking good. Overall everything is fine and will be fine. People need to relax and give these guys time to figure everything out

Bob Knight's 1st game: IU (17-8 that season) beat Ball State (9-15) by 7 at Assembly Hall I realize a 7 point win is better than a 21 point loss.....duh. However I think 2 things to note with this is a) pretty sure ISU is a much better opponent than that BSU team b) regardless I doubt people were thinking we had a 3 time National Champion/Hall of Fame coach after that game. My point? Freaking relax. When a coach takes a job due to previous coach being fired there's obviously going to be inherited flaws with the current makeup of that team. Do you guys actually think these recruits check out these message boards? I'm honestly curious. I would if I were a big time recruit and probably laugh hysterically everytime I did. That said it would be quite flattering to know there is this much excitement for them.....or creepy knowing there are 3,000+ comments from a bunch of dudes.....not sure which.
