It could've been that Beard had a pretty strong inclination that UT was opening up and he told the search committee (I guess Dolson since no committee was hired) that he wasn't interested. Could also be that Dolson didn't even inquire about Beard. All of those could be true and not many of us will ever know the truth.

The La Lumiere and Culver connections are intriguing. He could be great and is only 46. He could be worse than Archie. It just seems like a crap shoot on nearly all coaches outside of a very select few.

Yep it's a game of opportunities. You have to give yourself enough opportunities to get to a F4/Natty and typically you'll reach a F4 eventually. Only concern with Greg is that his opportunities are on a bit of a cap with his age. That said hire the man. Or Drew. Or TJ. Or a few others
