You’re entitled to that opinion….that’s fine. But no, there absolutely would not have been.

Sampson could coach around Crean in his sleep. Who’s to say Pritchard, Roth and Elston wouldn’t have had bigger impacts with a better coach? They were high character kids that wanted to play for Sampson and IU. I believe Houston has a ton of players rated around or even below those 3…and yet find themselves as odds on favorites to win the Title this year. Also…Ebanks was a stud. Let’s not forget TU Hollowell as well. He and Jordan Crawford single handily led Xavier to a deep run in the 2010 tourney…along with Ebanks leading WVU.

It’s a very important part of IUBB history and that’s why it’s talked about a decade later. People have their personal opinions about it. There is no wrong opinion. I understand differing opinions…but I, like so many others have a different opinion than you do on this.

Again, we self-reported. There would’ve been no violation…no ncaa show cause without self reporting.

We wouldn’t of had to rebuild anything. The NCAA didn’t do anything to us. We told on ourselves by self-reporting phone calls….not prostitution…not fake classes…not paying players…but PHONE CALLS. Everything else followed. This is why we raked ourselves over the coals far more than KS. Sampson would’ve won titles…and culture fit would’ve been fine. He recruited a bunch of good kids coming in: Roth, Elston, Pritchard, Ebanks He’s made a dormant program like Houston into a title contender…and his culture fit at Houston seems just fine. He will be elected to the Hall of Fame when it’s all over.

Why are we subbing Geronimo in the game? This group is playing great. Don’t do this Woody!

Why is Geronimo playing? We need 4 perimeter players plus TJD. He’s so lost on defense it’s sad.

Don’t forget…we have the transfer portal now. Expect some high impact transfers. Also, won’t sugar coat it…we need some personnel on this current team to transfer too to make room. They ain’t cutting it.

JHS/Reneau/Cupps/Newton/Gunn maybe a reclassification + formidable transfers. Some seem down on the prospects of next year. I am not. We will have a strong young nucleus with what should be the best pg in the Big Ten…JHS. Then again, we all say this every year…regardless, I’m OK with the roster turnover that will take place after this year.

I think this is what we’re going to have to hope for this year. We may have to try and play our way in the tournament with the last couple games and BTT and then hope for the best. Similar to a NC last year.
