    Ooooook who’s your # 2?

Maybe he comes here, says he roots for the Colts, prefers fair food to Texas B-B-Q and swerves to avoid potholes on SR37.
  3. I think he handled it poorly. If a girl you were close with from childhood knew you were in a rocky relationship and she mentioned that she wanted to date you in the past and would like to date you now and you were firm in your belief and desire that you can make your current relationship work out do you: A) Tell her she is the reason you believe in love and that you have great memories of your time together and that you have so many deep connections with her that you will never forget but you really appreciate and like your current girlfriend. or B) Do you say, "I am sorry but I am in a committed relationship which I plan to see through by thank you, I'm flattered.

With him, the worry is if Texas ever come calling and he bolts. He is definitely at the top of the list with a big $20M type buyout. But even with that, would you want a guy that wants to be elsewhere if that came up?

    Ooooook who’s your # 2?

I want a healthy guy in my avatar. Proven winner with enough Indiana/ Midwest roots that he won't be looking to bolt. Is young enough to coach well over another decade.
  6. Why? Everything that has been "heard" has been bullSh1t. It's obvious Dolson runs a tight lipped ship. It would be very unprofessional to leak talks with a current tournament coach. As for Stevens, not going to hate on the guy, but his pressers leading on IU fans and then his unnecessary comments yesterday are a bit disappointing.

How much have you heard outside of the "in the know" on here? If you are coaching Baylor, TT, Bama, Vill, I don't think B'town Banners is on your radar. There has been zero national news about the IU job. We are circling in our own self important universe the rest of the NCAA, outside of PUke fans, couldn't give a sh1t about. It won't be a problem.
  8. All unnecessary. Where is the first place you go when returning to Bloomington? Have a guy at Nick's, Kilroy's, Mother Bears, and the Irish Lion, 90% one will be his first stop.
  9. It couldn't be lining up better to happen, with the Celtics starting to show cracks in player infighting on the sidelines, fan discontent, and uninspired play, this becomes an easy mutual parting sell. Ainge gets his, "We would like to thank Brad, but it has been agreed to by both parties that it is time to move on ," soundbite. Celtics end up with a $0 loss on the remaining contract. Stevens gets to not have lied about "quiting" as Celtics coach and make the move that adds tons of job and financial security, along with all different angles of improved quality of life.
  10. But it wouldn't be a Celtics flight BS would be taking with anything related to IU.

If this happens a big shout out has to go to Coach Archie Miller. The Celtics current trajectory makes this seem about the first real shot that BS would bolt for IU and AM timed it up perfectly for us.

That may be true in the sense that they just can't leave for another NBA job. Same is true about all professional sports. But they are not indentured servants. Just more bulls*t from Goodman

I can not see how BS isn't leaning hard towards taking the IU job at the very least by that presser. Answers to an IU question: 1) If you have no intention at all to take the job: I'm flattered but I have no interest in the job or leaving Boston. 2) If you don't intend to but will listen: It's flattering, but I am happy coaching this team and we have things we are still trying to accomplish. 3) If you are leaning towards or intend to take the IU job: See above interview.

Seems it would be sorta cruel if Stevens continued to wax poetic about Indiana yet had no intention whatsoever to listen to an offer. Makes no sense. He very well may not leave Boston, but if you love the school and it's fanbase, it unlikely you lead them on if you aren't at least a bit intrigued by the possibility.

SO did anyone notice Chubbo McChuberson cut off slow talking Brad Stevens, likely muting his mic, just as he said, " I am not..." I believe the remainder of what he said was "...going to turn down the greatest job in the world again. Thank you Boston, now go suck it."

Was there in 87. Fish would be stolen and BWW would right their wrong and become BW3 once again.

From the casual observer standpoint, the situation is far different than 2017. At the time of the 2017 quote the Celtics were 18-7 in the last 25 games, it was a team that had improved his 1st 3 seasons and on it's way to a 53-29 1st place finish in the East. Since then they have finished 2nd, 4th, 3rd, and currently sit 5th just 2 games over .500. The shine on BS in Boston has tarnished. So his choice now is between a fanbase that largely is ready to see him gone and one that would gush over him like the prom queen asking a freshman to the dance.

"Brad Stevens tells us he is NOT planning on leaving the Celtics to take the Indiana job. " That's the most non-denial denial, I have seen in a while. A far cry from 2017: “I don’t speak to the rumor mill or anything else,” Stevens, 40, said. “I’ve made pretty clear I’m going to be here. I’ve been asked about that quite a bit. And I’ll keep saying the same thing. I’m going to be here until the Celtics decide they want to move in another direction.”

That would be sort of like living with your ex-wife while engaged to your HS sweetheart. Not sure that that cohabitation would go well.
