They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
BleedCubbieBlue replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The fact that we are even debating whether Woodson will be fired mid-season is an indictment of our program. The expectation should be that Indiana is always ranked and pissing excellence (grab a cup, Purdue). I can’t believe how far this program has fallen. RMK would rather lose by 20 with walk-ons that fight to the death than let a bunch of entitled sh!theads walk up the court. These coaches and players make more money in one year then most of us will sniff and they still can’t even be paid enough to give a sh!t. Let that sink in for a minute. They are paid to coach and play a game and they aren’t willing to put in the effort that you do everyday at work. And after you pay for a ticket to watch their pathetic performance they will tell you that you are not a “true fan”, for daring to question them. Can you imagine completely failing at your job and having the audacity to ask for more money so you can surround yourself with the most talented be you can acquire, then completely failing after you have spent millions and promised you could deliver with “your guys”? How long do you think your boss would put up with your abject failure? This problem is so much worse than it is being framed. How terrible do you have to be to fail with unlimited resources? There isn’t a job you could have other than being the IU basketball coach that would accept that sh!t. I haven’t posted recently because the state of this basketball program makes me sick. But when I see Kathy talking about “visceral reactions”, and taking the slow pragmatic approach I want to puke. Kathy is the type of person that would find her sister in bed with her husband and bust out the abacus and pro/cons list to figure out how to react to the situation. Fu€k a bunch of that. Cig got it right. Set a standard, hold people accountable to that standard. Be great. Sorry for the Ryan Phillips rant but this is crazy. Don’t let anyone gaslight you. This is a magnitude 10 ****!ng clown orgy and it is all because of one lazy, wine-sipping, cigar-sucking, nepobaby and his sycophant friends. The trustees don’t give a sh!t about this program and they don’t give a sh!t about you. The proof is in the fact that they were willing pay millions of dollars to a budget clown (the kind that a divorced dad meets at a bar and hires for his kid’s birthday party) with zero college basketball experience (who nobody in the world would have even considered hiring, since they are a ****!ng budget clown you met in a bar) and then lie to your face about what you see with your own eyes. End of rant! Hallelujah, holy sh!t, where’s the Tylenol? -
Dakich can go **** himself with a nailgun. Fingernail and toenail issues are very common with chemotherapy. It is usually temporary but can absolutely be permanent. For all that ******* knows, Myles paints his fingernails because of lasting issues from chemo. He may even have to use fake nails because his fingernails won't grow back.

2024 college football coach rankings: Deion Sanders falls slightly among Power Four coaches ranked 68-26 - CBSSports.com I thought that this article ranking Power 4 football coaches was interesting. Of particular interest is the fact that Coach Cig is the ranked the second highest among the newcomers to the Power 4. Only Coach Fritz at Houston ranked higher.

^^^^^ This! I hate to quote Calipari but, "Coaches win basketball games, administrations win National Championships." -

Weird vibe. That had all the charm of a hostage video combined with an awkward break-up. -
It is a big country, but more than 75% of the population live in the eastern or central time zones. Why are the networks catering to the minority that live on the inferior coast?

I almost feel like I owe Fred Glass and apology. You may not like his decisions, but he was smart enough to realize that Woodson has no business coaching college and wouldn't even give him an interview. He also hired Teri Moren, so props for that.

If you believe what @KathywithaC had to say, QB told Dolson if he missed on Stevens he had to hire Woodson, which would mean that Woodson was the back-up plan.

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

I go away for a week for an ayahuasca retreat and the world goes to hell. Purdue is going to play in the national championship, Calipari is going to Arkansas, the Fire Mike Woodson page gets renamed and passes 1,000 posts, Woodson is still our coach, and now the moon is going to eat the sun. Wait, did I come back from Peru or am I still tripping? $hit, if I am still tripping and this message isn't real, I am still going to post on BTB about how I had a trip and posted on BTB. Is this the real post or the trip post? This is getting meta. -

Ironically, when Goodman asked their wives about which coach they fear the most, the results were reversed. -

Dammit @Home Jersey, I was hoping that you were the person in Jersey that won the Mega Millions and you were going to put up the cash to save us from this tire fire that has been burning for the last 25 years. I guess I will have to put his thread on my back and win the Powerball to save us. You are welcome, BTB. -

In fairness, he had to be at the MCL for dinner at 4:30. Then he has to sort through all of his pill containers and be in the comfy chair before Matlock comes on at 6:00. Lights out by 6:30. He doesn’t have time for any tomfoolery or shenanigans. -

Sweet Mother of Mercy, the IROC is the equivalent of a chicken sandwich with ketchup on it. It is the brown acid (the Timothy Leary kind, not the low pH kind) of automobiles. Not for production or consumption. -

I feel like you are also going to have to purchase an IROC-Z. The amount of money you are going to have to spend on rust repair would probably crater our NIL money. -

So when Woodson said, “We've just got a lot of work to do this summer to get better. I don't want to sit here this time next year and not be playing in the tournament.” He was actually talking about some golf tournament he wants to play in next year. -

I wouldn’t be happy with Painter at all. He has lost to an 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 seed in the tournament. This is the type of mediocrity that we shouldn’t accept. -

If someone suggested those names for IU, people would being stealing fish from Showalter Fountain (still classier than burning couches). I hate to be a cynic but tell me why we should expect better candidates? How much more are we really willing to pay? How much more will our NIL really be? The only problem with IU’s toxic fans is that they have accepted mediocrity for too long, and have moved the Overton window down to a much shittier position. -
Are we sure we even want Pearl? Seems like kind of a bum to me.

I may or may not feel your pain for similar or unsimilar reasons.
