From 90,000 feet it does make sense. I would be cold, lonely, and balled up in the fetal position trying not to vomit and reconsidering my life choices 90,000 feet up in the air. -

Can you please tell me wtf is going on with the Indianapolis regional center? That place is a black hole for packages. Are they going to get it sorted out anytime soon? -

You go away on an ayahuasca retreat and come back to this. You guys have been getting at it. It is hard to catch-up. -

I agree with you. I have had the misfortune of suffering a concussion, dislocated fingers, and a broken nose defending a girl that I didn’t even know, who I saw get punched in her face by her boyfriend. All that said, if Beard is in recovery, comes out and speaks about what he did and how he effed up. Goes to schools to talk to kids about domestic violence. Donates money to women’s shelters. Becomes an advocate for women who are victims of domestic abuse. Attends AA meetings weekly. Devotes himself to God. Attends church daily. Takes a vow of poverty. Takes a vow of celibacy. Spends most of his free time volunteering to build homes for veterans that survived POW camps. Spends the rest of his time rescuing puppies from villains in Disney stories. None of that moves the needle? The answer is still no? Full stop? I really want to understand if Beard is completely irredeemable. -

That is a good point and a fair position. -

Just to be clear. I do not embrace him immediately and wholeheartedly. As things stand today, I don’t want Indiana to hire him. The point of the exercise is to understand what it would take for people to be okay with Indiana hiring him. -

Okay, so you are not straight-up opposed. I understand why you think it won’t be him, I want to understand what he would have to do for you to accept him as Indiana’s coach? -

Thanks. This is the kind of answer I was trying to illicit. I think I must have worded the question poorly. I keep getting answers to why not, I am looking for what it would take for people to be open to it. I can accept that there are people that will never be okay with it, but I also have to believe that most people aren’t beyond redemption. Maybe he doesn’t deserve grace, but it also seems that grace is in short supply these days. -

My bad. I am legitimately trying to understand what it would take for people to accept him at IU. The Old Testament part of me says “screw that guy, you don’t ever lay hands on a woman.” The New Testament part of me thinks that he can’t be beyond redemption. I just want to understand what that redemption looks like. If Beard came out and said he fu€ked up and was truly apologetic, and went to high schools to talk about how he fu€ked up and tried to turn this whole thing into a cautionary tale, would that be enough? -

I appreciate the comment, but that is not really where I want this to go. I understand your position. I am trying to understand what it would take for the other side to accept him. -

I appreciate the comment but I was really just looking for the opinions of the people that are against hiring him. I am aware of the opinions of the people who are for hiring him. -

I am not trying to start a war here but I would like to know what it would take for everyone who doesn’t want Beard to change their mind (I am also in this camp)? Would a Ray Rice type of mea culpa do it or is he persona non grata no matter what? Mods can delete this if they think it is inappropriate. It is just something I have been thinking through and I wanted to solicit the RESPECTFUL opinions of others. -

They burn couches when they win championships. I don’t think we want to try to predict their behavior in a given circumstance. -

Outside of Indiana, how many college basketball fans would be able to name 3 of these coaches based on their picture? This is why I love Indiana, and this is why coaches will want to be here. We have the best fans out there. -

Agreed. I know that there are some posters that will argue and say that IU isn’t a top job, but I think that with our NIL budget we can attract legit coaches that can win here. -

My bull$hit to English translator is telling me the same thing. Translation in bold. At an appropriate time, Coach Woodson will articulate his feelings about his decision and his experiences these last four years. Mike is butthurt that he got canned and wanted to try and put us on blast but we forced that crybaby to sign an NDA so he can’t spew his bull$hit. We anticipate he will write an OJ style book in the future called “If I Did It (Got Over The Hump)”. -

I have been developing a proprietary bull$hit to English translator for a large AI company that many of you would know (no, it is not the one owned by my former employer and current nemesis). The large language model was based on open source protocols and trained almost exclusively from this website, based largely on posts from AH1971 and KathywithaC, and the reactions to those posts. I was also able to scrape data from NGW prior to his Death Star implosion and account deletion. (I have been training this model for more than a year). The model was also trained on Tyme’s tweets and the reactions to them. I am going run Dolson’s statement through my model and I will share the results with you later. -
